I have a 59 MG and 60 Sprite. Sadly my newer vehicles don't appeal to me at all. I blame Automatics and reliability
Hold on there. Sprite and reliability do not belong in the same sentence. Even people that are fans of anything Sprite, MG, Triumph, etc laugh at the reliability of their cars. They admit it's a labor of love. We all know why the English drink warm beer.

Fair question. FWIW, I've been on various forums under various handles with Rick for 5-7 years, so I know a bit more about his tastes and history than you might think.
List of vehicles (not all inclusive) I've owned that I believe are more fun than an Arcimoto FUV: Corvette, WRX, Civic Si, Contour SVT, 124cc Shifter Kart, CB400F, CB750K, Nighthawk S, CBX, GL1100, ZX6, RF900R, SV1000, SV650, Concours 14. Long list of test drives/rides, plus driving and riding friends' vehicles. My current primary daily driver is the ZX6.

How about you?

This is why "fun" is highly subjective. I've owned a few vehicles myself, but I passed on the Civic Si...because it was completely soulless. My opinion of course...but it's weird to see on your list there.

Fun vehicles that I've personally owned:

08 GTi (this is what I bought over the Si)
09 Triumph Street Triple (exhaust and re-map)
Kawasaki Ninja 500R
'91 BMW 318i (first car, still miss it)

Better than all of them:
Tesla Model X
Tesla Model 3

Driving a BEV is a completely different experience to anything with an ICE...they are inherently more fun. And, unless you've driven a specific vehicle, I think it's pretty difficult to form an opinion on it. That's just me though.

Hahaha I'll take your word for it that they're more "fun" to drive than the FUV because I've never driven your long lists of ride....or even test driven the FUV but I have so much fun with two old cars I currently own, one with 210k miles on it and my goal is to keep fixing it, replace worn out parts, drive it and repeat the process just making sure rust don't creep in to the chassis. But I also flown a 4 seater trainer plane with my friend who owns it which makes your kind of fun boring (lol) but since I'm realistic enough to know that the cost of ownership is beyond my means, I'm saving up for an ultra light plane which is cheaper to own and don't require a pilot license- that kind of fun I'm in to.

This is true. You can tell me all day long how much fun a FUV is but I want to try it out myself. Same for an Elio. It's jet fighter feel yet i found out, everyone here never even grove one. So jet fighter is just something that's being repeated. I loved my Z4 and i know that many others would hate it. I liked it and getting over 200K with minimal maintenance and very little problems, it exceeded my expectations over 10 years. Even my wife thought I's get rid of it in 2 years. Funny part is, when she wanted to go out with a friend, she wanted to drive the Z4. In the end, I could have pushed that it was made in America with 80% north American parts but that wasn't the point. It was a fun car that happened to be reliable. I can't wait until 2030 when FUV owners will be boasting the 10 years of ownership and 200K on the clock.

Like I brought up before, I just have never liked Corvettes. The C7 was the most likable and the C8 could be better. As I found out, GM sells tons of them and thus many love them. My Alltrack was just bought out of necessity. The i3 was just an experiment. I'm indifferent with the i3 and Alltrack. They do what they are supposed to do and the Alltrack has been rock solid on reliability.

It is the lack of reliability. The challenge of making it home adds to the excitement. On a positive note, I can pull out the engine in less than three hours.

Can't argue that! And I don't need to TEST DRIVE the Tesla 3 or X if I can afford it! Right now the SOLO with 100 mile range (maybe a little less in real world driving) is perfect for me range and price wise. Simple EV design with less parts to worry about. 8 secs to 60 and 80-85 top speed is good enough for freeway driving on my short runs.

Family utility vehicles (FUV’s) I’ve owned since 1963. It doesn’t account for vehicles I’ve driven and consider the most fun to drive that simply weren’t practical to own based on family, work, and budget. I used the VW Bus back in my University days to haul low income kids to pre-school. Now that was the ultimate fun utility vehicle.

Love the bus. Have not seen one in years, worth a fortune now.
My neighbor owns a vintage VW Bus that has a $32K price tag on it.

I’m still driving the low mileage 05 RX. My last three vehicles will be EV’s. The FUV late March, the Tesla Model Y when available, and the VW Buzz as a conversion mobility van whenever I need one.....full circle. The Circle of Life! :)
