Well, Rick, it's been 5 months. More than "a few more months", but at least it's not been another year. When they tell you again that your doors, etc are still not available, are you going to continue to postpone, or will you take what you can (hopefully) get?
I'm still impressed with your patience and optimism.
Prior to November 2019, I was waiting on Arcimoto’s invitation to order. I ordered in November for an early December delivery, then cancelled. Now the wait is on me. I can jump back into the production queue whenever I’m ready to take delivery.......Doors or no doors. I’m a realist not an optimist. I understand that bringing a new vehicle to production takes time. It was worth the wait. I’m confident doors will be available from the supplier soon. I was so impressed by the vehicle’s easy ingress/egress/driver comfort and it’s performance/handling during my test drive, I would buy the FUV without doors and use it as my mild 4 season climate permits, as a more typical motorcycle. Mark Frohnmayer’s recent statement in a letter to his customers regarding driving his Arcimoto Customer #0 says it all, and he currently drives open air. Samuel, Thanks for the kind words!

Being open-minded is always a good thing and on that note, it won't harm to schedule a test drive for EMV's Gen 3 SOLO when it arrives mid-year and then whichever you chose, you'll get one heck of a unique "ride"! Other people who've test driven the Gen 2 are not that impressed because it hasn't been "finessed" yet so EMV listened and Gen 3 have now a car like dashboard, DOORS already included in the price Rickb! :clap2:... and also incorporated liquid-cooling on their batteries which was one of the questions I posed to them regarding battery heat degradation and a very important consideration in buying EVs.

I’m eager to see the SOLO 3.0 improvements and will definitely test drive it when the opportunity arises! However, my assumption is because it’s SOLOW, I’m not going to experience effortless ingress/egress, driver sitting position/comfort may be an issue, and my wife doesn’t want me to have fun solo drives without her. Pending my SOLO test drive I could buy the SOLO to supplement my FUV supplement to my SUV. :) Plenty of space in my garage for two three wheelers. I suggest you test drive the FUV too, just for the FUN of it, even though it doesn’t meet your needs. Speaking of doors, one of my favorite features of the FUV is the doors.........attachable for enclosed rides on nasty weather days and removeable for open air rides on the nicest of days..........convertible. It’s like having the $19K SOLO and the $50K(?) Tofino all rolled into one fun utility vehicle.

I hear ya Rickb! Lol. I've been hearing the same thing from my wife about how unfair it is getting me a ride for my sole (SOLO) enjoyment! Believe me, I could've easily picked the FUV too but EMV was the one who gave my 1K ELIO all-in another chance by honoring it towards SOLO's purchase, I couldn't possibly pass on this opportunity plus my wife finally agreed with the condition that she could drive it solo too! Done deal! ;)

Interesting article. electrek is full on fanbois, but have decent articles on occasion. I recently rebuilt the carbs on one of my bikes, and didn't tighten one of the jets adequately. It fell out, and I only got 11mpg on that tank. Still had better range than the FUV @ 70mph. As a side note, if you want to talk to a fellow rider, get a BT headset / communicator. I've owned Sena's for years now and it's great to be able to chat with friends when out riding. Phone/music/intercom and no need to shout.

The FUV’s range works for me. I may give the BT Headset a look, but during my test drive, I found the FUV to run quiet enough to accommodate normal conversation with the passenger in the rear seat and the Bluetooth Speakers had decent sound quality. Thankfully, no carbs to rebuild. :)

Good for you bud- but we're talking 'bout 3wheelers EV not 2wheels on ICE.
