My personal Elio will have the open Indian fender option. I like your open rear wheel illustration very much. I wonder if the open rear wheel cover could flair out slightly and be designed to compliment the Indian style fender.
Yes of course it could. I actually have a styling model of a 'prowler' inspired Reverse Trike, and it has that type of rear treatment. It look pretty good. It's in morphic studies thread. Hmm, nope didn't see it there. Attached instead.

just one issue ....
Hello roadtrippin,
Jan 12 2015 and no production # yet? I thought I was late in getting a #. It looks like production cannot even produce a production #. That is disappointing. I would like for both of us to receive a #. They should show some promise: give us some hope.

if you went $1,000 "All In" last January, I'd think you most certainly should have a number by now .... it would be wise to contact EM directly for an explanation .... if you reserved for anything less, no number will be issued until the reservation is elevated to $1,000 All In ....

Might also got routed to your spam folder. I would give it a check.

There are a lot of people that are All In and don't have production numbers. You have to figure that they are currently issuing about a 14,700 SIL and there are almost 45,000 reservation, so there are 30,000 people that aren't All In for $1K but for some other amount from $750 to $100 All In and $1,000 to $100 Want In.

I really wonder how important production numbers are. I have one 8019. But it is not a big deal until the day ELIO #1 rolls off the production line.
From the looks of things that is a long ways off.

# 1 To Jay Leno??? what great publicity!!
I agree the numbers are nice to look at, and our indication of early commitment to the project. How fleet sales (if there are/will ) affect the orders), that also combined with how many buyers back out/ take a delay would impact the SIL a varying indicator. Looming as large as ever, which we have agreed is "IF" and "when"

It looks to be a ways off, more likely 2017. However, based on EM's invitation to the Clean Energy Summit, photos of the P5 Frame, and recent photos of P5 injection molded parts showing some actual build progress, EM has recouped some credibility (even more with the unveil of the completed P5 and Es) regarding the IF and WHEN factors.

The production numbers are very important personally to most reservationists that have one. You have a number, I don't and apparently numbers are not so important to you either.

It really does depend on the rate. At 240k units a year, 15k doesn't sound so very much earlier. So why would you do it, for the extra $500 off I guess.
But back when the rates were expected to be 70k units, now each reservation did matter. But even earlier when it was expected that only those who reserved would set the year's production and only they would get a year1 Elio then it mattered a lot.

So it's possibly a tactical mistake to say it will be 240k, while we're still at under 50k. I think EM should only say it will be only those who reserve who get a Year1. Keep it in the air as to when they'll actually cut reservations off, and let the numbers climb. They only need 70k-100k to produce a good price/product. But I agree, if the other milestones are reached, reservations will be made in droves, even if they have to keep taking them into the production period.

But the cat is out of the bag, the deed is done. At this point only the four issues mater to motivate reservationists, the P5 completion, the E1-25 testing, the full funding and a reliably scheduled start to production.

When the reservations do start to become thought of as in short supply, the rest will be swallowed up quickly. That will be interesting to watch.

"B" fenders on "A" and I'm good to go
I agree. The "B" fenders on the front wheels are very nice. That would look amazing paired with spoke rims. The rear "A" fairing with the squared off look is also better looking than the rounded one. Not sure about the colors. The two-color scheme is nice, but I have an odd feeling that the black plastic fairing looks ... "cheap".
