Well, I have hope too for Friday. But EM is notorious for very slow releases of milestones. So maybe expecting the September time frame is less risky emotionally.

About the testing, since there is no Federal definition and also no fed program or requirement to test it, it will be the insurance consortium(s) that will do any national independent testing, if I'm not mistaken.

EM will be doing their own, because they made a public commitment and need it to prove the product to all those nervous spouses out there (like mine) Even though I have an actual degree in it!. Go figure. , also to qualify for the ATVM I'd guess.

It takes a lot to overcome any established public perception, especially sight unseen.
I didn't mean to imply next Friday lol I'm hoping for a Friday in the October-November time frame, speaking of emotional risk.

I thought RACER sold the property to IRG, LLC which, in effect, ends RACER's dealings with Elio.
No. Caddo Parish Industrial Development Board (IDB) purchased the plant with support from RACER Trust, and then leased to Stu Lichters company Industrial Realty Group (IRG). Caddo Parish is getting some cash flow no matter what. Part of the process RACER used to liquidate the GM property, as support to the local people/government, stipulated a number of jobs to be created (1,500) to which Elio Motors as a sublessee under IRG, agreed to, or they would face a penalty of $5000 per job by the end of 36 months which started in mid 2013 - which is likely why Elio Motors uses some of the language it does to describe when they hope to be in production. Much of this was discussed back in January of 2014, a bit complex but understandable considering what happened with GM. :(

The only thing we have about that is a few words at the end of the NYIAS speech PE gave and commented that Comau had actually sold "millions" worth of equipment from Shreveport. From what I saw, Comau had sub contracted out selling the "little stuff" and the ebay sales were only several thousand.

As I see it, the complex part on the left has the instrument panel top center, the "tunnel" for the steering wheel in the lower center, single DIN port center right, and I have no Idea what the box-like structure just below it is. Also don't see where A/C controls will go; you can just make out the upper AC vent on the upper right (unless that's a hole for a tweeter, which I doubt). I think the part on the lower right will hold the Elgin dash and two facia-mounted AC ports. The curves on the outer edges of that part seem to mate with the center hole in the console.

The roof is easy to recognize, and I recognize the trunk lid OK. I'm having a bit of trouble with the "seating tub." I see where the drive sits, but if the passenger sits at the same level as the driver, it looks like the trunk shelf won't be flat if the passenger seat is folded forward. I'm probably visualizing it wrong, and sure hope so, because having the larger, level storage area is really important for the kinds of gear I carry.
