The integrated exhaust is a surprise and elegant but the fuel port above the exhaust outlet scars me to death. Human nature is what it is and this is a safety hazard. Careless refueling, tank overfilling at the fuel pump, fuel spilling out around corners - this could be a disaster waiting to happen. This could be the subject of Ralph Naders next book. EM has done such an excellent job on every other aspect of the Elio, what are they thinking here? The exhaust outlet is where it needs to be - away from the door, move the fuel door to the drivers side and we'll all be happy. Its worth another $10 to put the fuel port where it belongs.

Very cool! ...and in 8 more days, I'll get a chance to see the P4 in person [hands raised to the sky!!]
I definitely like the exhaust exit. Would make it much easier to whip up some nifty side skirts (old '70's Vette-like). Hope they release some true orthographic front/side(s)/top/rear pics, it'd give me a chance to brush up on Blender for some realistic renderings.

It might be just me, or a result of the perspective view in the CAD program, but it looks [to me] that the rear wheel is a smaller diameter than the fronts (first pic). o_O No big deal, just curious if that's the case.

Shame they didn't show the driver's side in the renders, it looks like the driver window goes quite far back now, I'm wondering if the door does as well. That would make it easier to cram folks into the back seat.

Another note: the flats on the back of the new front fairings look like much better positions for added indicators.

Keep in mind that if the door goes further back, it puts more stress on the hinge structure.
I believe it was said that they had a problem with the hinges not being strong enough for the door in the P4.
If I remember correctly, they had to do some back-yard repair to get the door to stay on until they had time to fix it right.
I'm sure that they were painfully aware of the implications of this and have taken steps to prevent it.

Absolutely, a very real danger, now that you point it out.
H.N. being what it is, there will undoubtably be numbskulls that will fuel while the vehicle is running.
Since I refuse to submit my personal info to the world via farcebook...
Could someone with an account please ask EM about this subject and share their response?

Oh, and BTW, if you like the blue, you'll have to vote for it.
They've already stated, "You, as an Elio fan and supporter, will have a big say in the final color of the P5… stay tuned"

Edit: while you're at it, could you ask them if they're still increasing the headroom in the passenger area?

The two hood latches are no longer sticking up through the hood.

Does this mean they are gone?

Perhaps they were simply left off the computer CAD rendering, though it shows other detail.

I like it. I like the "laid back" windshield and smaller (to me) front wheel skirts. I like the exhaust exit, too. That's got to save them a few dollars, as it will be a few feet shorter. The tip will probably be (don't get excited, JMO) isolated from the body by a flexible coupler, (possibly silicone) and (if so) would be cooler to the touch. If the exit was moved back about a foot tho, it would exit thru the side of the rear wheel cover and wouldn't leave exhaust residue on the paint. Overall, I like it!

Don't know how many of you saw the movie, but looking at the overall sleek design, I have this idea that the manual cover should be be titled "How to Train your Dragon".

It's a great looking vehicle and I agree about the exhaust; seeing it directly under the gas filler has FAIL written all over it.
It's funny to read some of the posts in here; they talk about the blue but seem like they didn't read the article where it says the final color has not been decided on and that the future owners will have a big say in what that color will be.
Blue was used to show detail in the drawings.

I like the new wheel covers but the nose is what really impresses me; love the new styling.
The mirrors, not so much.

Anyone else notice how much smaller the rear hatch is?
In a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best I give it a solid 8+
I think there could be a few more refinements made.
