It's a joke! It's better for me than getting all upset. My 1K reservation is no joke though, it's serious money for me so anybody who does not have skins in the game and thinks he/she have the same right to get upset for me being opinionated, think again.
serious money? when you bought in, you knewby the agreement you signed it was a gamble. If it is serious -should have gone want-in.
My opinion, trying to shut someone down based upon their financial stake is not valid. You can always block them, and not have to "listen" to their points.
You got all good stuff, well expressed, keep your focus and don't get sidetracked

As disillusioned as I now am with Paul, and as pissed as I am with his and the rest of the player's behavior...
I don't think that's how this story went. I pitched a bitch when EM started spending money for fancy ads and national cable airtime.
I felt it was inappropriate and I saw then how the newly obtained money was flying out of the EM coffers in numerous streams.

I made those concerns known at that time. The reaction I got from most reservation holders was something like...
"Aw, faggetaboutit! Paul knows what he's doing!." Several of our members here made the point some time ago...
That it's not in a company's best interest regarding their image to pay their lesser officers more than their CEO.

So If EM was to have competent officers, they needed to pay them accordingly.
And Paul needed to be paid at least as much as the rest according to accepted industry SOP.

I believe that no-one in EM had the slightest inkling of how to come in under or at budget on the E-series.
Especially after they started spending a large portion of that earmarked capital on wasteful ways...
To keep the (in their minds) all-important perpetual reservation machine running.

And again, they themselves (before they payed Roush to give them a reality check) didn't actually realize what a thrown together crate they had.
The concept was brilliant, but these were people with a brilliant concept that had absolutely no idea of how to bring the product itself to fruition.
And these were also people who seemed to have a talent for solving problems with that age-old method of "Throwing money at it."
A startup company with no product to sell doesn't need a high salaried BOD and officers, they need a visionary leader that can generate venture capital, assemble a team of engineering, designer, and technical talent to focus on R&D, so there is something to market other than 'Must Haves'. Hello Elio was a "test the waters" marketing campaign according to Chip Stempeck when I happened across Hello Elio in 2008. EM has continued to focus on marketing and marketing milestones right up to EM's SEC filing statements indicating a potential Good Bye Elio Campaign.

The good news is that you used your Elio reservation receipt to lock in a SOLO reservation, so your $1K will not be lost if Elio doesn't deliver. You may have preferred the lower cost Elio, but the SOLO has potential to be one fun low maintenance ride. A generous EMV complimentary insurance policy.

If Elio delivers you can cancel the SOLO and nothing lost. :)

I respect that RU! You've read me all wrong though, I got all that it's a gamble, I'm merely saying it's still serious hard earned money that while I'm risking nothing in return, it's still hard earned money, that's all. I'm assuming that people going all in/want in have a little bit of expectation that it has a CHANCE of getting their ELIO because if you feel it's a lost cause from the beginning, then what's the point of going all in or even want in in the first place? Also I'm not shutting anybody down, hey, voice your opinion as I am.

I'm on the cusp of jumping to my deposit as a down payment for the Solo- my biggest problem is gonna find (a reasonable) charging location (I live in an apartment complex.
Those around offer free charging- but they charge for parking- duh!

Something that came to mind-
for each 1k all in that withdraw- doesn't it push everybody after my number up a notch?
Won't the total number of jumpers lower the total reservations?
How does Solo, get the $$?
thanks

RU, you don't have to "withdraw" your deposit from EM to use it towards a $1K credit toward the Solo. It's not a "one or the other" situation.
It's a "And" situation. All you have to do is provide EMV with a copy of your EM reservation/deposit confirmation email.
That way you've simply hedged your bet and still retain your options on both the Elio and the Solo.
That's why it's such a good deal. You can actually have your cake and eat it too.

The best of both worlds. Again you don't loose your reservation on an Elio...
By showing simply showing EMV your EM reservation/deposit confirmation and thereby getting a $1k discount on a new Solo reservation.

Do it here: http://electrameccanica.com/apply-your-receipt/

And join the conversation and information sharing at http://SoloOwners.net

And don't forget... EMV CEO Jerry Kroll will be live at https://facebook.com/groups/EMVsolo Monday night the 15th of May @ 6pm Pacific Time.

Heck, you could jog to Vancouver to take delivery of it.

And everyone... RU has a tendency to have half the people on this board in "ignore" status...
So someone please do him a favor and RE:/copy/paste (regurgitate) this post to him. Thanks.

Exactly. Solo don't get there money. Instead they are offering you a coupon if you put money on the Elio. They know you are already interested in a different type of vehicle, so are offering you incentive to buy there's. Pretty ingenious if you ask me and I'm betting will help there bottom line a bit.

Only problem with it for me personally, is I'm not too crazy with the Solo. The range and fact it only hauls one. (even though I'm mostly always alone when I drive and very rarely travel more then 10 miles, go figure)
