I am seeing 10 mph increments on the speedometer, if I am not mistaken. It would make more sense to me if it was in 5mph increments, but it isn't. ... Heck. Put it in 5mph increments and change the color to anything but white and I might like this dash. Unfortunately, white will be nigh unto impossible to read in the bright summer sun.
You are right, they do seem to be in increments of 10 which makes it even worse

My own car is in increments of 10 with a dash in between - as you can see, never had a problem with that. The speedometer isn't cluttered by tiny numbers, the numbers that exist are larger than they would otherwise be, and with the dash in between I can easily tell where I am.

Can you find a picture of your dash? Thanks

Mostly, you judge your speed by the relative position of the needle, not by reading the number next to the needle.

The Elgin dash removes this reference, and you will need to actually read the numbers to know your speed.

This is (aside from the ugly factor) exactly what I refuse to have the Elgin dash and is ALSO the problem with the 1980s digital speedometers.
