right on let us know when they will be availableThank you for asking about this project as I have been meaning to write an update.
I am still working on this project and I know people really want them and I would like to see them myself. Unfortunately life has simply been slowing my progress as work and other commitments have recently taken up most of my free time. On top of being busy the 3D printer was also out of commission during the month of March and only recently came back online. It is under warranty however the required parts were back-ordered and then it took me about a week to find the spare time to dissemble the printer and replace the problematic components.
In the mean time AriLea has done his usual wonderful job in completing his updated 3D rendering to reflect the most updated information we have on the design of the Elio year 1 production model. I have his 3D rendering imported into the CAD software and have been working on tweaking it to make it compatible with the 3D printer. Now that the printer is operating again I will soon begin printing some test models and eventually I will figure out how to invert the CAD model into a negative mold or molds which I can use to cast some miniatures and components thereof. If you have not seen AriLea 3D renderings you can check them out here:

I have also had some feedback from Elio Motors on making these available and it would appear my inquiries finally reached the correct person or people. To do this fully above board it would appear that EM wants me to work with Cameron Schwartz who runs Eliowear.com as he holds an exclusive license with Elio Motors on the sale and distribution of licensed materials. Cameron Schwartz is aware of this project however we have not yet spoken in detail about what kind of fee or commission he would require. I will continue to research this and determine what options I have however I also would like to do this with EM's blessing and without causing them or myself any legal issues.
As with many great ideas, once the threat of lawyers is involved it doesn't happenThank you for asking about this project as I have been meaning to write an update.

Okay, change the name of the model to "Helio" (the "H" from Hector), stick a flimsily attached shark fin on the roof [that might possibly fall off when removing from the shipping box...Ooops!]. WhaaLaah...Loophole!
I think I noted this before, the man who created and sold the 'Veepster' kit car, had no permission to make his VW bolt-on body look like a jeep. So he made 7 vertical slots in the grill rather than 9. ( or was it the reverse ? ) That was enough to turn copyright law from 'use of artwork' ( implied and inherent copyright ) into 'based on' artwork ( fair -and free- use ).
Anyway, whenever mods deviate from the original, this decrements from the public desire to have the actual original. i.e. pretty well stuck getting permission.
'Mr Veepster' sold his turn-key version, 10 years ago, for $10k. He told me once, you can always find men who will spend 10k on fun vehicles. He sold 53 Veepsters locally, inside of two years from his single lot. That included the development and fabrication time.
Your printer should have come with the required software, or at least some links to available software, I would think...Hi guys I just got a 3D printer and would like to print my Elio do any of you have downloadable program that I can get
