Tony wound up 21st in his final Michigan race which was enough to formally clinch a postseason spot .... with his Sonoma victory in June and a steady hold on 26th in the driver standings

my girl started 23rd and finished 23rd

Larson has been in NASCAR Cup for 4 years, he has come so close so many times, but just could never get the job done; it was great to finally see him win today.
I wonder how much standing on the roof is going to cost him?

Chase (the 24) is a Rookie; and he's been coming closer than Larson did; it's only a matter of time before he wins one.
And he's high enough in the points, he'll be in the Chase.

Like many others I was happy to see Kyle Larsen finally break that barrier and win his first race. He has been so close so many times. Great showing for the young guns and the future of NASCAR.

Jr's out for the rest of the season :

"NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. will miss the rest of the 2016 Sprint Cup Series season as he recovers from a concussion, Hendrick Motorsports announced.

Hendrick Motorsports says that Earnhardt Jr. has not been cleared medically by doctors and will continue to receive treatment.

“I wish I could return to the No. 88 team this season,” Earnhardt said in a statement. “To say I’m disappointed doesn’t begin to describe how I feel, but I know this is the right thing for my long-term health and career. I’m 100 percent focused on my recovery, and I will continue to follow everything the doctors tell me. They’re seeing good progress in my test results, and I’m feeling that progress physically. I plan to be healthy and ready to compete at Daytona in February. I’m working toward that." "

My guess is ..... you won't see Jr. back behind the wheel of a race car.
For the number of times he's rattled his brain it think it is at or very close to - The next big hit and he's toast or a vegetable.
Look at, is it, Bobby Allison. After his last accident he lost all memory; if you listen to him in interviews he says "he can watch the video, but has no memory at all about being behind the wheel".
