I never had an original idea either, but they must be doing something right, laughing all the way to the bank- oops, in another thread I I said no religion and politics, now I should add OS8 to my list.!! I keep this up and I might have to focus only on my Elio, (well then I really will have nothing at all to say.)Maybe we should compile this list and send it to Apple.
Odds are they would use it.
They haven't had an original idea in years.![]()
I happened to see an Enterprise Car Sales TV ad last night. Enterprise has over a 120 Car Sales Locations in about 40 States, beyond the Enterprise Rent-a Car Store locations. I had no idea they were one of the largest used car sales businesses in the country. A great partnering opportunity for Elio Motors for Elio Store locations, similar to the Pep Boys Servicing partnership. A partnership would make for a fast, efficient, and economical sales location rollout and sales staffed by Elio employees. I'm guessing nearly every City has a convenient Enterprise location nearby. Also, a good marketing opportunity for Elio Fleet Sales.
Not a bad idea .... My daughter recently purchased a 2014 Toyota Rav 4 from Enterprise . No haggle best price and nice folks to deal with . While we were there to pick up her vehicle, the Toyota dealer from down the street was there picking up 2 cars.
Enterprise told us that they buy at exactly the same price as the general public and mark them up of course .
I wonder what the rental market is for a two passenger vehicle is though? I don't know much about the rental industry, but every time I've rented a car, it's been while traveling with family, so that wouldn't work out.I think EM should make a deal with the rental companies to sell a fleet of Elios for rental. Like the first 50 thousand off the line for 6000 a car prepaid. The problem obviously is we don't know the actual cost of the cost of the car in terms of parts/labor/overhead. The elio could be ubiquitous as a rental which could drive demand even further. They could rent them out at a bargain price for people who are looking for a deal. Of course we would no longer get to feel special.

Actually, come to think of it, I've rented vehicles on business trips before, so maybe not a bad plan.
That would be the fleet sales that we hear so much about.concept understood and I can see some solid reasoning behind it .... that said, I just don't see it happening .... I believe EM is committed to the reservation system they have in place and the fallout from any effort to go in a different direction would be pretty intense .... I can see them blocking off X-number of Elios to be build for such a purpose after those built for folks with a reservation prior to a given date
