EM's official timeline is referenced by goofyone in post #19. Elio facebook responses to production is sometime 2015 in Shreveport.......no specific dates. 3rd quarter it is.

Think I'll build my own and sell them as kits...it will be faster.

No harm in being a skeptic. I think think the engine being built and currently being tested is a very positive development.

Hi EZ, if I remember correctly, we've established that Elio has funds to get them to production without the ATVM loan. I had asked why wouldn't Elio want to accept more funding from private investors right now, and other Elio-ites helped to explain that Paul Elio is only waiting on the ATVM loan because if the loan comes through, that money won't dilute the ownership shares held by PE and all other private investors. Elio Motors may as well take a wait-and-see approach.

So Elio Motors is not waiting on the loan, to make the Elio a reality. Granted, there are other variables both within Elio's control and outside of Elio's control, but it's been stated here a few times: the ATVM loan is not needed to get the Elio to production.

I've gone from this website for a long time. It was intentional. I stayed away from here and other Elio sites because I became a doubter.

I'd like to be a believer again, but I need proof. I need real information about actual Elio production.

Has anything changed? Is there a running engine? Is the plant actually being built with tooling to produce the Elio (not just moving or selling off existing equipment)? Is the production date set or still sliding around as always? Have any subcontractors started producing parts for the Elio? The last bit of news I heard was that Elio was going to hire 900 people to start working in late 2014. That is here and almost gone. Has anyone been hired or interviewed?

In a nutshell: Is there any physical and substantial progress towards production of the Elio?


Is there any reason for me to change my mind and believe they are actually going to build the Elio?

PS. Not a "hater"...just want to be convinced by facts and not speculation.

I'm surprised that you are asking for "Proof"... Really,....? I would think that the Engine being in bench testing alone would be more than enough to convince you that the Elio is making progress. Did you know that AIV that is developing the engine designed the engine in cars such as the Bugatti Veyron? They would not have accepted the contract to develop the Elio engine if they were not going to provide a good working engine design. Elio would not have spent millions of dollars to get to this point if they did not intend to bring the Elio to production. But in any case it is not our job to "convince you". It is everyones responsibility to study and be informed about this, that is if they plane on owning an Elio.
