thank you folks, I am proud to be a salesman, as you all know sales is the worlds oldest profession.
Actually, prostitution is known as the world's oldest profession. Are you trying to tell us something? :D
Remember, you reap what you sow..with elio the price is fixed and at a decent profit..for EM, not for you!
Nothing to do but sign on the bottom line and pay the money. everybody pays the same for the same car...
I always asked the guy who "said" he paid less to tell me the msrp and I always find less equipment and a padded finance payment.
More and more "negotiation-free" dealerships are popping up around the country. Why? because the average person is just like Ty and hates dealing with salespeople. They don't want to be sold. They want to get in, buy something, and get the hell out.

... surveys do show that many new car buyers in America would be interested in buying directly from manufacturers, particularly to avoid costs associated with the dealer/customer bargaining process. In one survey, almost half of respondents said that they would opt to buy cars direct from the manufacturer even if it didn't save any money.

I know you are having fun with sarcasm however for those people who really do not care there is supposed to be an option to purchase the vehicle online and have it delivered to your door.

Sarcasm? On the contrary Goofyone, I am actually totally serious in my statement. And I would be willing to bet that there are at least 3900+ others (the real serious ones) that agree that the Elio does not need a dealership to sell their cars and COULD indeed be sold online. As the Elio's hit the streets, they will sell themselves. The streets will be their most successful Dealership. Isn't that how Amazon works? Most products I purchase (no matter what the price tag) was something that I saw that someone else had and then researched and purchased online (thank you Amazon). I understand there are many others that are the touchy/feely types that need someone to hold their hand through a purchase while they see it in person, but obviously, the online sales model would work for an Elio. I'm glad and hope that option will exist for the people that know what they want and want it NOW. #3411

When you get your Elio, you can leave your young Elio Sales Rep a 2 or $300 tip before you drive off and you will sleep better knowing you didn't steal his or her services.
Ten to one says you or pj don't leave a dime.
For some reason you put me in the same anti-Elio class as pj because I respect sales people and good service? I assume I will be getting good customer service at my Elio store and who the hell said anything about stealing services? Is tipping required as part of the direct to customer sales model? I was simply hoping pj would treat the young sales person with respect.........because he hasn't been that respectful of Elio the Company. Quite frankly, there has been little respect shown by some in many of these posts.................too include yours when you make remarks and assumptions about my character.

Actually, it has nothing to do with liking on not liking the car. I'm cool with your opinion on the car and sale's reps. My point is, people that are pro sales rep, talk a big a big game on how they are people to and need to make a living, but when it comes down to it, they won't spend the extra 2 or $300 for the benefits, if any, they get out having one of them assist them, if they don't have to.

No one on here or anywhere else, unless out of spite, will tip the Elio showroom assistant, an extra 2 or 3 hundo just for their help.

Sorry, It can be hard at times to distinguish sarcasm online and your post reads that way to me.

As Elio Motors will only have a limited number of dealerships compared to traditional car retailers I am sure online sales are substantial part of their sales strategy. They have discussed online sales and direct to home delivery and it is highly likely that for the first year or so online sales will be the only option. As this project moves forward EM will likely sell out the first year of production ahead of time meaning that tens of thousands of these vehicles will be running around and people will see them and want to buy one. As a result some people will go online and order one. All this can happen before EM needs to set up their retail sales centers for normal production.

To maximize sales EM also has to have some kind of dealership network because they have to reach all the potential buyers not just the ones willing to make such a major purchase online. Many people are conditioned to buy a car from a dealership and to test drive it first so that is the kind of experience they are looking for and expect when buying a car. Other people may not care for visiting a dealership however they may still be uncomfortable spending, what is to many people, a large sum of money without first seeing and exploring the product in person. EM can not just count on these people having access to someone else who has one especially as this is a new vehicle to the market.

How EM will make their profit has been explained several times.I will not waste every ones time explaining it to you AGAIN. As for their salespeople, they will make a GOOD living. And my "fiance"?...I've been married for 26 years now....OH, do you mean "financing"?...That will be arranged BEFORE I go to purchase. (smart, right?) Options: I am capable of "competently" installing any option that I want, OR paying another "vendor" to install what I choose not to do myself. (ie:window tint) As for "what THEY call people like me?" .....I've heard enough of your "drivel" to not be too concerned about what YOU think.
I know what my "friends" and my "family" call me. There is no greater joy in life than good friends and good family.
