There are a lot of people who i am sure would love to join in so who knows over time Elio Motors may open these discussions up to a wider audience. As far as I know these virtual meetings have been by invitation only and the invitations have been given out to a number of people active in the various online Elio communities. Elio Motors representatives do regularly read, and as such are aware of, what is being discussed on here and other Elio forums.
Funny, as how they "regularly read, and as such, are aware of what is being discussed on here and other forums." I remember when my wife and I were interested in the PT Cruiser, we actually joined the PT Cruiser forum which, by the way, was always monitored and never a comment could be posted without an actual Chrysler represetative viewing it first. They were there to dispell rumors, confirm this and thatand talk about where the PT Cruiser was in production.

I do, however, understand that this is slightly different, being as how Elio Motors is a start-up company, and therefore the few "representatives" that they may actually have are being schooled by the Elio heads and probably being put out there at the Elio showings.

But, you see my point. Others have also stated, more bluntly than myself, "documentation, or it didn't happen." Admittedly, I felt a little put off that there was an "apparent conference call" with Elio personnel, and was in disbelief of that and the "facts" stated there-after. So please, understand, if we "commoners" who are "not in the know" don't trust what we are hearing. Seems it has been happening for centuries, doesn't it?

I actually liked your post earlier in the thread which is why I responded to it as you had some logical doubts about what was being said and made a good point about people blowing smoke when they would be better served not saying anything. I can not blame people for being skeptical about Elio Motors in general and I understand you definitely can not believe everything you read on the internet. I do not mind members questioning what is being written, as this is a forum for discussion, as long as they are not being obnoxious about it which you definitely were not.

This is an unofficial forum so Elio Motors really has no say in what happens here which is good in a lot of ways because they can come here and see the unvarnished truth as a lot of what we discuss does involve members negative thoughts about how things are being handled. These thoughts could be based on real or imagined issues and are also based solely on the little bits of information we get through official or unofficial sources however I am sure Elio Motors is aware that sometimes perception is reality.

I believe Elio Motors has been doing a great job with their weekly tech talk emails and their blog lately and as a result they have been pushing out a lot of solid information which answers a lot of questions and verifies a lot of the information we had already heard through unofficial channels. This first hand information has also helped me sort out who is likely to have reliable sources and who is just blowing smoke as while I am most active on this forum I also read through another Elio forum and some Elio Facebook groups.

I have been a fan of elio since September 2013, and have saved many comments for future reference.
The best way to learn about elio is through the tour people. I always ask anyone who is going to a showing, to ask several questions and report back to us. But Always remember to understand things could change. What EM said 4 months ago is changing by the minute. If any of you go to the next showing, than ask and report back to us. Find out the progress of the automatic AMT, find out about the new interiors and dash, even colors, maybe new horse power numbers on the engine, even the 0-60 number which hasn't changed for 10 months or more. Check on the new pricing of the base model, it has been $6800 for months and we still have 15 months to wait..costs go up. Ask questions for us, we are all committed to the success of EM but "trust and always verify"..we do not need any $700-$1000 surprises! Go, go elio!

Thank you for sharing that you are getting firsthand info. I also appreciate the snapshot of the town hall meeting you had.

I guess we are all just confused/impatient.

The most reliable information we seem to have gotten, as they have "cited their sources," seems to come from the showings. People have started to go to these showings, asking the pertinent questions, and gaining the information and then reporting back here. PJ Rogers post above mine actually spells this out. Unfortunately, due to my schedule here at Fort Gordon, I can't just trot off to Savannah, Birmingham or wherever just because. I would love to, but can't. There was even a showing in West Palm Beach, where my cousin lives, and I couldn't go to that. She was in Costa Rica that weekend, anyway.

But anyway, thank you for replying to my post and hearing me rant. I appreciate it.

The most valuable information I have is from the Elio weekly Tech Talks and they are making solid progress in a complex process. Production scheduling changes for a variety of reasons and should be expected. The first paragraph in the last Tech Talks says it all.

Relax, let the process play out so when we finally take delivery on our Elio's it meets or exceeds our expectations. Elio only has one chance to make it right to insure their long term success with this new class of vehicle.

I came to this conclusion, and actually quoted it in one of my posts yesterday, as well. We as a society just "want it now," (as quoted by Veruca Salt from "Willy Wonka" (yes, the best version!!)

Very well said!

We really have to keep in mind that we are getting a great view into a process most of us never get to see which is the development of an entirely new vehicle, along with the necessary supporting infrastructure, from the ground up. There are a lot of moving parts to this operation which all must come together at just the right times to push this project forward. Undoubtedly there will be hiccups along the way which we must also accept as part of the process as we enjoy this journey together.

There is only person in this conversation who is being absurd (Martian Ambassador?) and not credible and that is you. The fact of the matter is that I jumped into this conversation to clear this issue up knowing that I could back up everything I said yet you continued responding and claiming this information could not be credible and was completely absurd even though you knew you had no way to back up anything you were saying. As a moderator on this forum I don't often drag things out this long or call members out directly however I have actually kept this conversation going longer than I should have as you have unwittingly proven to be a great example of the exact point of this conversation which is someone who continues speaking about a subject without having any facts to back them up.

I can prove what I have said because I have GoToMeeting screenshots of a town hall with Paul Elio himself. I believe this has already been posted elsewhere on the forum however as this happened just before you joined you likely did not read about it.

So, you had the information readily at hand and could have posted it at any time, yet you enjoyed baiting me along?

That is the very definition of trolling. Shameful behavior for a moderator of a site, no less.

Please share this evidence with the group.
