Will our vehicles be at these stores for us to pick up?

I've seen this question asked on Facebook long time ago, not remembering the answer. Probably discussed on this forum too.

Best guess: if say 25 reservation holders live within 150 miles of that store, they'll probably ship 25 vehicles to that store. I suppose it depends on what EM would need at the store to have it be a dispersal-to-reservation-holders site. Would be good marketing for sure.

If sales were that good, and if the rest of the industry didn't jump onto the band wagon, then you could bet Elio would open other manufactories and ramp up production to fill demand sooner.
Oh no, that statement doesn't take into account the auto-industry entrenchment. They do not want this car to exist, it doesn't have the profit structure they are addicted to. They will only get in if it makes business sense, and that will not be true until an Elio success is imminent.
So most likely competition will not invest in R&D until Elio is at least fully funded. This is one single reason that the ATVM approval is better later than earlier.
If it was earlier, production would have been perhaps predictable but with enough lead time for competitors to be a preemptive threat.

Wait, OIC, you meant Elio would ramp up. no even Elio has to cow-tow to industry expectation and aim at a relatively low risk target. Obviously they don't depend on 24% either. It's unbelievably huge. Even a 2.4% would mean 13 years to supply initial demand.

And at 0.24% it takes 1.3 years and demand still exceeds supply.

Well, they certainly can't expect all of us to pick them up at the factory (although I'd certainly like to). There has to be some sort of regional pickup option.

Sure thing, but in previous discussions I don't remember us talking about stores existing and being possible regional pickup locations. We discussed feasibility of some of us going to Shreveport.

That's right, I remember now: I did some calculations and determined that it would be less expensive for me to pay a (guessed at the time) $750 delivery fee for them to ship it within say 100 miles of where I am, vs. driving a rental car to Shreveport + hotel + food + gas and drive the Elio home. Gas would be a bit cheaper now. Might be expensive again by the time production starts. Harumph.

I think we'd learned that there'd probably be a choice: drive to the plant or allow them to deliver the vehicle close to where you live. :D

Here is a link to a story about Aston martin, who offered a gussied up Toyota IQ as a tender for their high dollar ride. I also remember seeing a smart as a tender for a MB

And you know, that is still an option, to partner with US bands for a re-branded Elio, like how geo-metros were sold. Working that out with current reservations would be interesting indeed.

133 years??? even moving numbers around that's gotta be the silliest post this year!! do you really think there will still be a line at year 132, if it was humor, then I apologize.
As we all know if after E's go into production,, the second year other models from other manufacturers will be available.
Just look at who's selling hybrids, electrics, high milage cars and trucks. My joke-how long will it be until Ferrari has an Electric?? I laugh my a+s- off when I see a Porsche hybrid.

Some other stuff that had been kicked around-
Until the stores are in place, the option to pick up at the factory, for those that fly in, will be cushioned by EM teaming with a local casino to comp a few days, while you see, test drive and close the deal, factory tour and pick-up your machine like Corvettes (as per Jerome earlier this year)
note: the shipping charges will be universal- i.e.pick-up at factory will be same at factory or to Seattle -(shippers average it out)even with a store across the street shipping will be the same.
There will be a lead-in time of 4-6 weeks initially when EM will contact us (until they get distribution centers/stores set-up) to add your options
Was mentioned that delivery to your driveway initially will not be cost effective (to you) to go that route.
Haven't heard lately, and I don't believe it's possible to have a one day delivery after ordering at the store. worse case 1800 mile round trip ( to a furhest distribution center locations -all distribubition centers will be within 900 miles of each other,
there is no way units can be delivered to stores overnight ( go back empty- dead-ending)without adding the options at the store. The elves would have to have the 14 of the base cars - 7 colors 2 transmission options=14 as long as that day's customers order combinations that haven't been selected for that night. Since we know there will only be a few units to test drive, and the pick-up units the stores might pop in a radio and put the paper curtesy matts in (only two needed)
Stores will be located at "inexpensive" strip-malls, with the exception of towns too small to have them, and for those that don't, it's not a location for naked woman to perform
I believe It'll be years after production before the might even come close to overnight delivery.
Dealers swap cars in their area, not possible w/E

I purchased new a 1992 Honda accord which I drove for 12 yrs and put on 230,000 miles. I then purchased new, a 2003 Honda accord, now 12 years old, with 201,000 miles. I have planned on keeping this Honda for 300-400,000 miles. I am all in on an Elio :D. The Elio will become my primary vehicle and Honda secondary. HOORAH FOR THE ELIO <> 84 mpg, $6,800.00, roll cage, air bags, 1,240 lbs, tandem (aerodynamic), 200,000 mile capable motor (new design 2015), Hyd valve lifters-no need to adj, the Elio being categorized with motorcycles keeps additional costs down, one door, three wheels/tires, standard stereo-power windows-power door locks-front wheel drive, Hoorah :D I am in line waiting with all my Elio to be owners!
I Salute and thank you Paul Elio <> plus a grand thanks to Team Elio :D
G+d bless ya, I don't have enough miles in my tank to see that milage- smiling as I fill in my health care proxy.
