Initially all sales for some time(Fill in your guess), as per EM, we will receive an email 4-6 weeks out, asking for the basics +options. Yes we will still pay for shipping for pick-up in LA. As per Jerome, they are working with local casinos to comp those who fly in-room,transport/food (and hope we drop Money in the slots.) There will be a plan (read price) to deliver it to your home above the regular shipping price. For the first wave, lacking distribution facilities somewhere you'll be able to take delivery for just the basic shipping charge (same costs as the future store charge.)

Of course there will need to be locations/tours to test drive, followed by payment. For some it's a no brainer. For me, I want to see them being made, so I plan to fly in/drive home. (folks mentioned seeing THEIR unit being assembled)- no way to time it considering the initial lead-in time/ production goals/training.
The first National meet-up should be in Seattle, hey but that's just me. You'll then be able to check THE wiper, heater /defroster.

I(try) and remember that the first "batch", when they would "close" the reservations was to be 60k ? anyone else?

Seems like we have discussed that Paul is shooting for 250,000 vehicles produced the first year. We've discussed the feasibility of such a thing.

There has to be a list of events or decisions that could cut the number of reservations that they say they can fill in the first year to less than 250k, such as suppliers of certain parts not producing correctly or on time, or a decision to tweak a design on some part, or a decision to provide yellow as an 8th color lol, who knows what else.

As others have said, EM will keep taking reservations, but who knows when they'll say and what the number will be, that they can deliver in the first year of production.
