With 10 being the point you thought this car was a go, when you first became interested, what is your number now? There have been a lot of changes over the last 10 months, all for the good of EM. If your not a 10 at this time, what will it take?

My # is 10

over time my starting point hasn't changed, I thought EM was a scam so I guess that would be a ZERO .... reading mostly on this forum that changed to where by September I was about a 5 .... positive reports on the production facility moved me to a 6 .... the engine being ready for dyno testing and favorable reports on the first stage of the Fed loan being favorable have been good to hear but for me haven't moved the needle ....being ready for the dyno isn't the same as performing well and a favorable first step doesn't guarantee the loan .... if/when the motor is proven to live up to expectations and once the money for the loan is pouring into business, the number for me will take a positive jump .... the day the first production model rolls off the assembly line will move me to a 10

Thanks for the post. I see where you are coming from. Me, I put in my 1K with only ten minuets of research. I'm in for the concept. I would be perfectly happy with the frame, body and wheel assemblies.

The government loan looks like a given. Paul has stated 'this project needs to happen' for various reasons. I was all in for a grand within the first hour of research after learning about it, #7771. People, we don't have to waste our money on fuel to go from point A to point B just because Detroit and Japan are unwilling to offer us fuel efficient vehicles. If Paul doesn't do it (and I believe he will) someone else will, because we know it can be done. You know the old rule about supply and demand, look around this website and you can feel the demand. 35,000 people have put money down on a vehicle that isn't even in production yet. Most people I talk to about it, don't even know it exists. Wait till it hits the street. To a person, every person I have talked to about it, when I've told them, American made, 84 mpg, $6,800, their response was 'never heard of it and I want one'. I'm 10+. I want it NOW. How many other automobile manufacturers would love to have 35,000 people putting deposits down and waiting a year (or more) to purchase one of their products. It will happen! Again 10+!

I certainly hope so and if all that is involved is the project being evaluated based on the facts .... unfortunately, while serving as a government employee for 30+ years, I learned all too well how a behind the scenes phone call from a politician with an agenda can turn things around (positive or negative) .... I'm not trying to push doom and gloom, just real world reality .... I have no doubt that EM has done their homework and is presenting their case in a very capable manner .... lets hope it is judged accordingly

I would not have put money down on the Elio in May '14 if I did not think it had a good chance of happening. 5 months later I feel even more confident that it will happen. Seeing the P4 yesterday for the 1st time (looked really good to me) did nothing but reinforce my belief. The proof will be in the funding. Only thing lacking at this moment (also the biggest thing). I believe if the gov't loan does not go thru, that private funding will happen shortly after the engine goes thru the testing phase. Been in business all my life. I think the Elio business plan to this point has been commendable. As PE has said starting a new car company is hard. Think PE has done an amazing job so far and I think he has the cojones to pull this off. I will continue to support him 100% until the Elio is sitting in my driveway. Doubt at this time is counter productive. He stands to lose multiple times more than I do. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am entitled to mine.

The worst part about where I stand now is the 8589 people in line ahead of me. I signed up $1K, about a week after I heard of Elio, and still there was a big line. The hard part will be listening to them all talk about how much fun they are having with their new cars, while I sit and wait. How sooo many people talk to them and ask them questions. How cool they all are now because they got their new Elios.

There should be a rule here, after production starts, only one comment per person that has receive their new Elio. (Just kidding because I jealous!)

If my math is within a sq. mile, everyone that has a reservation at the start of production should have there car well within 5 months.
