The way the body is shaped, I'm sure it would be super easy to add more plastics and carbon fiber to the body in order to shape it the way you want. There are some adhesives out there that bond plastics together and make them as one. I can see it working if you have the time and patience to do so

Well, I wouldn't want to fiddle with the aerodynamics of the fenders. I was just thinking of using paint or vinyl to mark out the shape and texture of TIE-fighter wings :)

Adaptive cruise uses a radar module that is hidden in the grille of the vehicle, or sometimes behind the emblem in the grille (if you've ever seen a Lexus, or Cadillac with the smooth emblem in the grille, thats how you can tell) to gauge the distance from the vehicle in front of you, and keep a preset distance.

Lets say you set the adaptive cruise for 75MPH, and someone gets in your lane doing 65, the car will automatically slow, and keep that preset distance until that vehicle moves out of your path, and will then resume 75. Some GM systems will even completely stop the vehicle, and maintain itself in stop and go traffic.

This was absolute made for Walter Mitty. Daydreaming about your Elio while driving your Cadilac

With my mom's 2005 honda odyssey, when she has it on cruise control and comes to a rise or fall in the terrain, the cruise control keeps the vehicle within 1-2 miles of the base speed. Once it comes to a flat area, it automatically slows or speeds up the car to the target speed. I don't know if this is what you are meaning, but one thing that I believe to be true, is is that with all cruise controls, they aren't perfect. There will be some fluctuations in the speed just because the engine will naturally have to work harder to go up hills, or gravity will pull the car down slopes. This is just my thoughts.

That's true, especially Lexus, a company who prides itself on precision, has a cruise control that will hold within a tenth of an mph no matter what happens outside. That can work against you when the cruise begins opening and closing the throttle in hilly terrain or even in gusty winds. Your MPG will suffer accordingly as the system works hard to keep your speed within that micro-thin setpoint.

No cruise control as of yet is able to anticipate what is down the road. You see a hill coming up and you can sloooowly squeeze on throttle without jamming the throttle butterflies wide open when the car begins to slow. Adaptive cruise is a major advance in the technology, but still it can only read what the car ahead is doing and keep you from running over it.

Lexus and some other adaptive cruise systems are reputed to be useful for setting up behind another car for a speed of 85+ mph and just tagging along a couple hundred feet behind like a trailer at about 70 MPH or whatever his speed is set for. The idea is to set a ridiculously high max speed and let the laser radar maintain your separation between you and the car ahead - letting him set the pace. I sure don't recommend it, but people are using it that way all the time.

Probably, that means I'll have to pay extra for the 8-track option.
No 45's??? or 78's????? Darn I was really hoping for one.
How about an entertainment system for your back seat passenger? Will it play Betamax?

And curb feelers and mud flaps? Those front tires might kick up gravel from the roads !
