I think it was in the late 70's that Lincoln came up with a power wing window that was completely different then all of the others.
Rather than swing out, you'd push down on the window switch, and the wing window would go down, into the door, rather than swinging out.
Once it was all the way down, the main window would go down into the door.
Up was just the opposite; main window first, then the (as Lincoln called it) "Vent window" next.
I guess they figured since it went up and down, rather than swing out, swing in; it needed a new name too.
