With production scheduled to start in 2017 I find it difficult to believe that Elio would skip this show.

Based on the remaining reservation count of 992 and Feb. 11 being the start date of the Chicago Auto Show then:
1. With an average daily reservation rate of 40, Elio Motors could announce that the 65K goal was achieved at the opening of the Chicago Auto Show.
2. With an average daily reservation of rate 29, Elio Motors could announce that the 65K goal was achieved during the Chicago Auto Show.
@ Elio Motors: Please come to the Chicago Auto Show.

It costs a lot of money to display car at a show.
There are also time constraints on when displays have to be there as well as union requirements for display setup.
I remember this was discussed at length within the last couple of years on this forum.

I calculated 25.857 vehicles per day giving us 31.36 days to reach 65k, reaching past the Chicago Auto Show.
