I'm sure there's some way to do that, but I've never tried. Any events that zoneminder records on my setup stay on the Linux system or get copied to my media server (also Linux) via NFS.

If nothing else, from the Windows computer you could always browse to the zoneminder web interface and download the video direct after its compiled.

I guess my question would be, Why would you want to publish videos of the inside of your garage? To call attention to a thief so that he might figure out how to break in? The inside of my garage and my security system is private. The less people know about it, the better.

My answer would be I never intend to publish anything to YouTube at this point. I want the video for my own reasons, not to share it to the world at this point.

Is a Linux able to save/copy files to a windows file share on a LAN?

Yes. I have read on it. I have an old laptop I moved to Linux Mint 17.3 and read up on how to connect it to Windows based file shares on a LAN.

I will get back to you with results.
