What the GM plant did was they had the build sheet done before the vehicle started being built. All parts were painted/prepped based on the build sheet. In other words, if they need a black one, they'll paint it when it's turn comes up. They won't have body panels stacked around. THAT takes up too much space.RonnieB, I went up to the $1000 level on the 31st of July. I'm going to order a licorice one; wonder if color choice can affect the line? Do you think they will get that many off the line per day?
So what is everyone's production number? (I believe you only get one after you have done the max all in payment.)
My best suggestion to anyone that has questions or comments directed to Elio Motors you should contact themBigger question is when will production start. Last Comment by Paul Elio as second HALF of 2017 = 7/1/2017.
Why? Why? Why?
All they say is need money? Need for what?
Has anyone heard a more detail reason?
Recent Post indicated they just picked an ERP package ( it will be the core software for all aspects of the company). IQMS-ERP is a tier-two ERP package. They normally take 9 to 20 months to implement and train users. Is that the real delay?
Do they have finalized drawings for all the parts for the car, if not, then that is the hold-up not money? If 60% of the parts are existing, off-the-shelf parts, how can it take this long to do the other 40%? Finally, it was just 2-3 months ago that they changed to uni-body frame - was that the problem.
I just want a real answer to tell my friends. I have been a real Evangelist for the Elio. I even have a "flyer" (attached) that I give out; because ( I believe in the mission of cars for the struggling); but I am starting to look dumb. FIRST delivery I had was 3rth quarter of 2015. ( I ordered on 9/14/14 ( yes 2014))
If they don't start production in first quarter of 2017, they will loose the market to competition. "Available" beats "better" if you are selling something.
OR, ask us loyal users to help.
HOW MUCH MONEY do they need TO START 1/1/2017?
