Personally, I'd welcome an engine that would let me use Crisco. Maybe Canola.

Interesting read. I wish they had done some tests on the "high-mileage" oils for cars of over 100,000 miles. My car is 15 years old, with an unknown number of miles since the odometer is broken and doesn't click over the mile consistently, but it's over 100,000 miles.

It just seems odd to me that anyone would waste time wondering about what oil to use for an engine we can't even buy.

Of course, once we can buy it, half of us will disregard the manufacturers recommendations and do our own thing anyway.

I believe that you both may have been in the incorrect thread with your posts.
This thread is about oil type for the Elio, not production schedule.
You might want to repost your statements over there, and delete these.
