Interesting read. I wish they had done some tests on the "high-mileage" oils for cars of over 100,000 miles. My car is 15 years old, with an unknown number of miles since the odometer is broken and doesn't click over the mile consistently, but it's over 100,000 miles. This was an interesting comparison of oils. It's a few years old but still good reading.

It just seems odd to me that anyone would waste time wondering about what oil to use for an engine we can't even buy.
Of course, once we can buy it, half of us will disregard the manufacturers recommendations and do our own thing anyway.
So, I have to ask you...why are you "wasting your time" on a forum dedicated to a vehicle that doesn't exist?
Me, too. I'll be 79 in July,2017.View attachment 11878 Elio projects the 4th quarter of 2017. I would be happy to get mine by the time that I am 79 years old, which will be late Feb. 2018. Wishful thinking!View attachment 11878. I really am not concerned with the oil yet!
