There have been many failures in the auto industry in the past . I sure hope that Elio is not one of those. I think that they have a great concept, and the design is great . I don't get excited about much at age 77, but I am excited about the Elio. My prospecting days might be coming to an end, but I sincerely hope that Elio is here to stay for a long long time. God bless all the Elio supporters !

The problem with MPG testing is this the EPA requirements call for a fully loaded production car driving a set route in a test facility on a dynamometer. Elio doesn't have a production car let alone a fully loaded one. So they cannot do official MPG testing. What I can tell you is that they are fully confident that they will either be on or above 84 or at worst no more than a whisker below it. The chassis change and suspension changes plus some other tweaks that I don't know about have made a big difference.
Unfortunately, that is not news that can be used. So while you are quite correct that some specific piece of good news is what Elio needs, it's not going to be MPG, at least at present.

While I'm at it- of the (soon to be?) 65k "reservations"
1 k all in are the only actual, factual #'s we have.
how many lesser all in's ?
how many 1k wants, 500, 250..... i.e.refundables
How much does that all add up to in real $$$- Nobody outside the company has any idea- perhaps when they generate the 65k spots -in -line we might get to see it. I think closing the doors at 65k, will be easy to then generate a complete list of reservation numbers. G+D bless number 65,000 they should get 2 T shirts and an option for the color that is never to be spoken
How many $100.00 wants are multipals of single reservationists?
Personally, I'm in for 3, with (if it craps out a loss of $1100.00) i.e. with $1,100 deposits, I count for three reservations (not deducting INCENTIVES)
It's an easy jump to up the reservation# for members to put deposits of $100 wants x 10 = 1,000 total refundable, and 10 more reservations get added to the big number. (Instead of buying stock), make a real difference and no risk by buying 10 reservations @$100 wants- 10 folks who do so will add 1k reservations!! and zero risk.
and as for the other milestones "accomplished" been too long a time gap- those experts who "know" how start-up car companies function should/could have sat on the sidelines awaiting the reality.
I wish us all good luck, and I hope it happens- for me it'l be time to clear the deck if it doesn't, I don't want a single seater EV, nor the exposure to the elements- Slingshot, T Rex.
At this time, I'm hoping for a foreign invester with deep pockets to get it off the dime- or see the potential and build it themselves. Wouldn't be the first unique, inexpensive, not USA built.- Think VW, Datsun, Honda, and of course DKW- (front wheel drive) I think it was belt driven??
and we all know that to expect any government support is just wishful dreaming.
When I jumped in, I was married, had hair, drove bikes, lived in Florida, and had two married daughters.
Since- I'm divorced (not EM related), bald, gave up bikes after 50 yrs on the road, have a one+year old granddaughter , moved to Seattle, had cataracts, prostrate rebuild, lost my tan also II'm eligible to run in a new age group (70-75-) so much easier to medal.!!next year even better 75-80 age group, I'm planning to use a three wheel walker (in honor of EM)
