‘ I think the database of the reservationists has value as potential sales leads.’

———————

Maybe you’re right but that list, even if all 65,000 were ‘champing at the bit’ wouldn’t be worth buying EM’s digital carcass and debt. One has to consider how many of those 65 K are insulted past the point of no return: how many just took a chance with the minimum and weren’t all that jazzed anyhow? Plus, a lot has changed since the original specs, ‘technology,’ and ‘must haves’ that drew in people. I bet those ‘shell games’ will bring back nausea.

A few strategic posts and press releases, and getting people like Scotty and that know-nothing loudmouth Jo Borras (he was my incompetent scooter mechanic many years back in Chicago) to spread the word about a new three wheeler enterprise, completely removed from Paul and Hari, would go a long way. Plus it might avoid rancor and ‘fired up’ negative postings from the old ‘reservationists’ when they get singled out with another notice of ‘new opportunity.’

Besides, the bottom line is, if Paul and Hari can’t make good on redeeming the ‘refundable’ deposits, that list is worse than just worthless: they won’t get a dime for that, either. They even screwed that up, too.

If I recall correctly, Elio does own all the equipment in the plant. Not that it is worth a whole lot now. I think the database of the reservationists has value as potential sales leads.
Some. Not all. And they still owe far more on it than it's worth. They sold most of what anyone will actually buy for a tiny fraction of what they financed it for several years ago. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. My guess is that what's left is damn near worthless.

As far as the reservation database, again, I think most of those folks are jaded and have already found other paths. I believe it's worthless.
Especially in this day and age where everything we do is tracked and ad content is already constantly tailored specifically to our internet and phone history.

I remember seeing a picture of their warehouse. Looked like technology from the seventies. Someone could buy an old Sears warehouse and have technology that is only fifteen years old. The accumulated debt load of OSTK will be almost impossible to overcome.
The equipment in the plant is still among the newest in the industry... It is getting older by day, of course, but still in the tops... It would just be so expensive to move it all, it probably makes more sense for a company to just have it all purpose built and delivered rather than try to remove, ship,, and reinstall the older stuff.

I was referring to the Overstock warehouse. It looked like a Sears warehouse from the seventies.

Maybe, but those people are "once bitten twice shy" now. It would be a hard sell in my opinion.

The database includes information about the reservationists that would allow an analyst to determine the demographic market. Don't you think a company like Solo would like this list? It does have some value, but only for someone with a similar vehicle and I doubt they have money for that.

Short answer, again, no. not at all.
It's the age of the internet. You're stuck in the old analog mindset. It's an extremely fluid digital world now. If another company contacted everyone on that "valuable" list, most would publicize that contact with something like a "here we go again" comment. In that regard, the outdated list actually has a negative worth. People can easily get far better demographics by paying a small price to a company that filters browsing and buying histories and start fresh.

I will reluctantly somewhat agree, but, ever hear of Data Mining? This requires historically saved information. Ignoring the past, using only fresh information can skew the results based on what is trending. It's like taking a poll. The right/wrong questions can skew the results. Do you always trust the poll results to reflect your thoughts? So sure, 65,000 plus people followed a "new" trend, with the Elio three wheeler. However, they actually followed through with a commitment. That information, must have value.

Check this out if you only want fresh information:

The database is all based on speculation of a product which had grand claims that not a single other business on this planet could match. Those claims were not verifiable either. It would be worth giving to a university psychological department and study which kind of people fall for this. Then maybe a followup onto what they think today and if they would ever invest in an another crowdfunded project that has the similar non verifiable claims of Elio. Let's face it, people bought into this on claims of mileage, features and price which only Elio claimed that could be done. That was a big leap of faith for at least the $1K non reservation people.
