Was wondering if there is any way we can all get together and perhaps talk management into adding YELLOW to the mix? I think it would look great.
I'm going creamcycle if no other choice. If Yellow, what would they call it? Lemon is obviously out, banana maybe? Moonrise?
Any ideas? (no taxi cab is a bad idea. wrong yellow.)
Sorry, Chief, but don't think that Yellow will be an offer any time soon.

Think maybe it was goofy, the other night, that explained the reasoning behind there NOT BEING yellow as a choice.

YELLOW paint is the most expensive color out there, and basically, in an effort to keep the cost of Elio's down, the company will not be offering it. :(

The reason why yellow is not likely to be offered is purely because of cost. Yellow is by far the most expensive car paint color and to keep the standard price down as low as possible orange is likely about as expensive as EM wants to go without having to deal with colors available for an extra fee.

White, grey, silver, black, and blue are relatively inexpensive then a bit of a jump to red and an even larger jump to yellow. As green is made by mixing blue and yellow it costs about as much as red and the most expensive color they are offering is orange which is made by combining the two most expensive primary colors, red and yellow.

In this case it was easy because it had been discussed recently. I searched for yellow color and member goofyone. It was the second post listed. Maybe I should have claimed to be a genius but half the time or more when I try to search for something I can't find it. Of course that is usually because it is an older post and therefore difficult to find. I can't even find some of my own posts because I have so many of them. :p   :) Z

I learned something new today. So when I go to Home Depot to buy paint and have my credit information stolen, why don't they charge more for yellow?

The one nice thing about yellow - you never have to worry about anybody stealing your Elio <LOL>
Let's hope not... I want mine to stay where I park it!

I obviously like my yellow vehicles... here's a couple of pics to prove it!
ARB_installed4.JPG

My 2001 XJ- Solar Yellow from the factory, a color only offered in the last quarter of production. I special ordered the two-door in it and have yet to see another of them. There are four 4 door XJs in my area in this color, all produced around March of 2001. Mine was one of the last Cherokees to roll off of the production line before they shut it down on this body style.

Mine & my daughter's `93 del Sol's- both started life as red vehicles, but this car begged to be produced in yellow! Alas, it never happened, so the change had to be made after the fact. I suppose the same will be said of my Elio, but it only follows that my next daily driver should be at least close to the same color as my current one!

When it comes to not seeing yellow vehicles very often, that is a good thing. No reason for folks to steal them and strip them for parts, as they'd have to repaint & that would take the profit margin down. My biggest theft concern is from joyriders that like exciting colors on vehicles.
