Trading In Your Old Car When Getting Your Elio

Know the feeling because I made the same promiseNo trade in. Don't need another car or truck. Need something fun and different to replace my motorcycle that was totaled in an accident in September of 2012. Promised my wife I wouldn't get another motorcycle.

I recall the same thing. Where was that?
I thought it odd... I don't see the correlation. Obviously a trade-in would reduce the overall credit card balance. Perhaps Elio is putting a limit on the balance?

To me it seemed like a skin in the game deal. If you don't hold up your end, at least they have something-thats just what I thought.
I think it was in a press release-they come to my mail box.

OK, this source is Elio inn reference to their Trade in Program. It is not definitive, I believe Elio is testing the waters. Yesterday I received a poll request via email directly from Elio. The gist of which was this. If I were able to get my new Elio in the next 6 months would I have a trade in? As my answer was NO, I didn;t receive any further questions. I would like to know if there is anyone else out there from this group that might have answered that first question with a yes; and what subsequent questions they got. How about it, anybody.We also have to consider the source. I believe I have read elsewhere that Elio is considering a trade-in option but until I hear it from Elio Motors and see it in black and white I have to assume it is more speculation. In fact I remember there were some comments/advice on here at the time about getting our vehicles detailed to improve trade-in value.Z

Well, my car is worth about $300 at the junk yard. If they want to offer more than that, I'll be happy to trade it in.

I did the survey, but also wanted to comment about trades in general. I also suggested it on Facebook. I think that Elio should partner with a company like CarMaxx. Currently CarMaxx will pay anyone cash for a used car. If Elio partnered with them or a company like them they could refer there potential trade in buyer to Carmaxx. They could offer them a fair trade value for their used car. If the buyer was satisfied with the offered price they could take a trade voucher to their nearest Elio store. If the voucher was worth more than the new Elio then the buyer would get paid the remainder. If the Elio cost more than the voucher amount then the buyer would either pay or finance the amount owed. Seems like a simple low risk option for Elio Motors. Ultimately it is always best for the buyer to sell their car private party as it would maximize the amount they can get for the car, but for those that want the simplicity of a trade in, then it would be a good viable option.

I did say there were no facts in this matter, it was just a hope... you remember hope... the thing you did when you signed on to Elio Motors....
At one time you had to have some, or you would not have gone this far... this is just my way of showing a little hope... and I would love take the plant tour in the middle of winter... count me in...
