When we are on the road anything purchased just gets mailed home. US post office is great and affordable . If we leave when it is cool and the weather heats up just mail some of the gear back. With a packing plan that allows us up to two weeks without laundry not time is wasted.
We did not work this all out over night or on one trip , it has developed over time. Simple things like not needing two phone chargers, I take 1 10 inch laptop .How things are fold and where they go. She gets right saddle bag I get left most of tour pack wife. T bag gets other items. Faring glove boxes get phones and camera .
I am sure it will all work out in the ELIO. We plan to run it down to deals Gap for the first trip out of State. I just do not want to be the first to hang ELIO parts on the tree of shame.

And only $300 less than the Elio.. Might as well buy 2 Elios and just tow one of them..

I was looking at the picture this morning, and although the conceptual design looks nice it appears that, unless carefully packed, the weight would be behind the trailers axle. Looking at the picture makes it appear that more than 60% of the cargo volume is behind the axle. That would put negative loading on the tongue and reduce the weight and traction on the Elio's rear wheel. Really dangerous.

The USA Trailer is $749 (and shipping starts @ $169).
That's not really bad for all that chrome, bigger wheels and the toolbox/cooler rack.

Here's the bare bones Harbor Freight for $379.
Though the picture shows chrome wheel hubs and nuts, they're not actually chrome.
