congrats to Harvick and his #4 team for taking the checker at Michigan .... sorry to say, it was pretty much of a ho-hum race that was settled on fuel mileage .... hated to see the 48 have trouble early .... afraid that they pretty much have to win one of the remaining races to get into the chase

I read an article by Jimmy, and he's not ready to give up, not by a long shot.
Like he said, I'm still healthy, and still physically fit, I believe I have years before I'm ready to give up.
What a statement, and this coming from a 7 time Champion, I believe him. if not this year, next year.
He's not giving up. I have to believe him, he's in it till he can't do it any longer.
Have to admire people like him, I know I do.

Hamlin ran him down and passed him clean .... his 4th win of the season and he was most gracious to Dibenedetto in his first comments after getting out of his car

Yeah, he felt bad, but not bad enough to give him, what would have been his first win, but that's racing.
And Gibbs would have a hissy fit if he didn't try, Gibbs is a sore loser, he doesn't care about other people's "feelings".
He's running a business, and you don't give away wins.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. on Monday released his first statement regarding Thursday’s plane crash in Tennessee, one in which five people — including Earnhardt, his wife Amy and daughter Isla — escaped without serious injury.

“Amy and I want to thank everyone who has lifted us up with phone calls, messages and prayer since last Thursday,” the statement reads. “We are truly blessed that all on board escaped with no serious injuries, including our daughter, our two pilots and our dog Gus. With respect to the investigation, we will not be speculating or discussing the cause of the accident. I am thankful for the quick response of my pilots, local law enforcement, emergency personnel and hospital staff. Lastly, Amy and I continue to be very appreciative of the privacy extended to us to process everything. It has been important to do that together and on our own time.”
