I don't think that is going to happen. The P4 is too busy being the guest of honor at all the events. LOL They will need a different vehicle for that. :) Z
Yes but We have been told the changes made to the P4 from the P3 and so on have been to effect fuel mileage. Would it not make sense for them to test it in the platform that offers the best chance of reaching 84MPG. Maybe they have another P4 in the back room with no engine in it.
Also the fine tuning of the MAP that will control the ECM will need to be tested a refined in the car.

Hmmm, I will have to check the Support page on EM to see if this is covered. :-) Z

I think they will simply bench test the engine and then drop it into the P5 production prototype and drive it to Shreveport for production!

It looks that way because it does. :D

"It has been reported to us that this initial prototype engine uses traditional steel liners and does not have any variable lift or timing mechanisms installed. This is apparently done to run the engine at a baseline level and then add variables to it as development and testing continues to measure the resulting differences in the engine performance."

That is interesting. I wonder how many engines where cast? I think it's great that they are going to do baseline testing and "assume" they will probably do the same thing with a spray bore engine, too.

There are a few good posts already about my antique cars from the past but here is a picture.
