But as it has been stated, Elio is doing everything in it's power to delay production again in 2019
No matter what anyone else says, that's the plan, and they are working on sticking to it.

As they do every year, I won't be surprised when they do that again this year.
:p

But of course, should they actually come to market in 2019, I will immediately buy one. The benefit is I'll have 66,000 pre-orders ahead of me so that should give them plenty of time to work out any kinks by the time they're ready to make mine. :usa:

I hear you. I once bought a used car when my trusty VW Rabbit finally bit the dust. Turns out the year my car came out was the year the engineers made 3 different engine mods, so you couldn't just tell the auto store place, "I need a macerated thingadingy for a 198? MajorBrand." You needed to know where in the update cycle the car was made.

And remember: NEVER buy a version 1.0 Microsoft product.

Exactly why I am looking forward to the second year Elio :D Hopefully they offer turbos the second year, but I will settle for a naturally aspirated if they do not look to be on the roadmap once production gets rolling. But no way do I want the first year of a new model of a new car company with a new motor.

But I applaud those of you that do!

I wonder how the turbo will affect MPGs (when driven conservatively)? Could a turbo help it get over 90 MPG on the freeway?

I've contemplated turbos for fuel before. I know truckers use them but for cars the general consensus is that it reduced mpg.

My understanding, I could be wrong, is that adding them to an engine reduces mpg but putting in a smaller engine and adding a turbo to equal the first engine could be better mpg. It's all so complicated. So if you need 100hp it might be better to use too small and engine and a turbo. I'm getting a headache just thinking about it.

I drove a turbo 4-cly Camaro not too long ago and it was really nice. I'd have bought it but the Camaro is too big for my tastes.
