Why not? The Elio prototypes were costing around that. A one off, hand built, working vehicle doesn't come cheap if you're not building it yourself.$1 million will make Sondors a working prototype??... I think not.

The full breakdown is in the filing, but in compact version; more than just one prototype, payroll for the people on staff, the tour group, advertising, having a brand new motor designed and built, and do I need to go further?Don't know what you mean? Protoyping costs more? Or less? IMO, way more.
Otherwise, how are you going to explain that Paul Elio already burned 100 million in the process?
I think it is fair to say, for the time being, the Model Sondors is indeed everything the Elio is not: vaporware.
