$1 million will make Sondors a working prototype??... I think not.
Btw, has anyone seen a picture of the three-passenger layout?
Two in the front, one in the boat tail?

Why not? The Elio prototypes were costing around that. A one off, hand built, working vehicle doesn't come cheap if you're not building it yourself.

Don't know what you mean? Protoyping costs more? Or less? IMO, way more.
Otherwise, how are you going to explain that Paul Elio already burned 100 million in the process?

The full breakdown is in the filing, but in compact version; more than just one prototype, payroll for the people on staff, the tour group, advertising, having a brand new motor designed and built, and do I need to go further?

An initial, proof of concept level, prototype could be thrown together for anywhere between $250k - $1M depending on how complete you want it to be. To do all of the engineering to make a vehicle that is safe, meets performance goals and is producible in mass quantities for minimal cost, it'll take a couple orders of magnitude more money than that.

I think it is fair to say, for the time being, the Model Sondors is indeed everything the Elio is not: vaporware.

There is a continuum between form and function. Everyone is somewhere between the extremes. Those who are on the form end of the continuum want a product that looks good and have little interest in its practicality. Those on the function end of the continuum want a product that works and don’t care how it looks. The Sondors and the Elio represent the extreme ends of the continuum. The Sondors looks great, but it is vaporware. I want a practical car with proven, tested technology that will last and keep me out of the weather. Fortunately, it doesn’t look too bad.:yo:

Frim, Much to early to call Sonders vaporware. Sonders has a vision in 2016 much like Paul Elio had a Vision in 2007. Crowd funding is pushing a Million dollars and closes in 35 days. A prototype building partner could hand build a prototype for Well under a million. $2-3 Million could in-house build and road test a production prototype model. Similar to Electra Meccanica's Solo and Arcimoto's SRK business model..........funding spent on R&D..........no funds wasted on marketing beyond social media until there is a product to sell. Ordered on-line and shipped to our door. Magic. :)

The Sonder's Rendering looks so stylish and so affordable for an EV at $10K that if I won the Lotto I would invest in Sonder's. Did you see the Dash render and the side by side seating for old fashioned date night! I want both form and function! That is exactly what Sonder's plans to provide an affordable, stylish, and functional electric three wheeler. Go three wheels!
