The essential point of the Sondors design is that it is electric, affording flexible space and layout. It is also simpler to maintain, saving operating expenses and reducing development time. The most important aspect is the drive-ability advantage of an electric vehicle, one pedal driving, no shifting lag, immediate torque at startup, no emissions and most importantly ,no gas...
We will await his efforts which should be most apparent by the end of the summer.

For comparison, the Suzuki G10 engine alone weighs 139lb. Add another 80lb+. for manifold, exhaust system, oil, lead/acid 12v battery, radiator and antifreeze and 100+lb. for 12 gallons of gasoline and the tank and fuel system. Add the weight of the transmission That's around 350lb. Compare that to a ~16Kwh battery bank that would probably weigh around 400lb. Throw in a motor and controller combo that might weigh upwards to 50lb. So... surprisingly, not a lot of weight saving.
Good comparison...but
How far does the Sonders go on a charge? How far does a Suzuki g10 go on 12 gallons?
This is what I do not like about EV's. For range comparison, there is no comparison...yet.

Sounds like you may have a case range anxiety. :)
New research suggests the concern is overblown. The latest study says today's EVs can handle almost 90% of all car travel in the U.S.

Sondors will likely offer optional battery packs to meet the various range requirements of their customer base.

boo, in all fairness, the ecdriver711's post was about mpg, not range.
Both vehicles have strengths and weaknesses.
The Elio wins the range contest.
The Solo the MPGe.

If you really want to get crazy, hook up two 5-gallon Jerry cans to your Elio's fuel system.
Then (according to the simulated mpg) you'd be able to go 1458 miles without stopping for anything.
It's only about 63 extra pounds and it would take you from Pittsburgh, PA to Houston, TX.

Not a fan of these "engineering" diagrams. Tube frame is surprising. There is NO FRUNK?! Doesn't appear to have room for the normal "frunk" that most electric vehicles are known for. Also, the layout/dimensions don't look right. Look where the butt/head of the rear passenger fall. According to that, the persons head would be on the ceiling, and their butt would only be inches from the bottom of the vehicle.

I agree. Based on the new engineering diagrams the Model SONDORs is off my three wheeler radar, but impressed by the fast paced design and engineering progress.

The sitting position places the butt nearly on the floor board with legs outstretched creating a rather uncomfortable sitting position not to mention low to the ground difficult ingress/egress..........a young man's commuter vehicle.
