Seen on CNBC this morning... the former CEO of Shell said that in 40 years approximately 50% of vehicles will be electric but that there will also be more ICE vehicles than there are now! Follow the smart money. Imagine... if you dare...the emission free internal combustion engine.

ICA is not going anywhere. manufacturers will still make them because it's easy money. This is the same reason why the Germans and Japanese keep building and expanding car plants in the US. We keep buying ICE and it makes much more sense to build them here. Toyota has two massive ICE engine plants here in the US and they would have not made them so big if they thought ICE was going away. I can't wait to see the Elio engine manufacturing area in Shreveport. That's going to have to employ at least 500 people. Since Elio is not building the engine, that 1500 jobs does not count the engine plant or seat plant. So, that will be at least 2300 jobs created just at that facility. It's a home run hit for the area.

Europe always gets a little ahead of themselves. Not just with cars either! They are just a little envious of US across the pond. Doing things first or bigger does not mean doing it better. This has happened repeatedly since the end of WW2 despite and because of their government instead of market based decisions. The previous WH made the same mistake...remember Solyndra. Market driven decisions always win. Ask North Korea...they envy South Korea more than Europe envies US. Go American... GO ELIO!!!

I've heard it said that they know electric cars are not the answer, and that there will be new technologies yet to be pushed main stream, that is why the interest in Hydrogen power is starting to make progress. Toyota and Chevy both have Hydrogen motors and they are beginning to do more development on them. Smart money will look of other modes of power for vehicles; or so they have said in articles on upcoming power plants.

Hydrogen is a dead end for a number of reasons. Chevy doesn't have any plans to introduce a consumer FCEV, they have been working with the military on FCs, however.

Everyone in a EV...just around the corner over 170 years later! Saw on CNBC today that there will be more ICE vehicles in 40 long years than there are today...highly advanced non-emitting ICE vehicles and other power trains and energy sources.

I absolutely move my ICE car for long commutes that is. But my eye's on these upcoming EV 3wheelers for short commutes. Can't go wrong with both power plants in my garage.
