If every reservation holder was in for 1K, Elio still wouldn't have enough to go into production. Paul's vision was for this to be a vehicle for the people who could never afford a new car.
If his vision was for people who never could afford a car then he's already lost the battle.
I'll bet there isn't one reservation of the 36000 that don't already have a car.
Be interesting to hear for someone who says they can't afford a car and don't have one now explain how they are going to pay for the Elio.
Paul knows you don't make big money or produce a car off poor people.

I bet you will be surprised by the response to your last post. There are people that are in for 1K that may decide to not purchase an Elio and can walk away just because they changed their minds. To some 1K is not a big deal, and reserved a place in line just in case they wanted one.

Change that 1K to $100.00 and I'll agree.

Wither your in for $100 or $ 1000 "want in or all in" your in, until you deside otherwise. Every reservation counts because it shows an interest in the company and what they are trying to accomplish.
What I'm saying is that if you are all in at $1000, i have all the faith that , that person will stay around to get an Elio.

Your point about those with a thousand dollars in are probably not in bad financial straights is probably valid..
Mr. Elio is planning hundreds of thousands of these cars, many many of those will go to people very much like he described.
The 36+K people currently entertaining ourselves here is much to small a sample to question the sincerity of his vision.

As in most things, the poorer folks don't get pushed to the front of the line. The battle for them has not been lost, it simply hasn't begun yet.
Try to see the big picture.
Those who only see the world from their point of view, only see things one way.

I think that those who only look at the 36K total reservations, or the 11K "all in @ $1K...are not "thinking" about the bigger picture. I seem to recall the fact that EM has a staff member whose job is: FLEET SALES. Do I think that person is just sitting around doing nothing? Absolutely NOT! Let's look at just ONE facet of the "potential fleet market...The (close to) 100K municipalities in this country. Meter readers, warrant servers, building inspectors, Fire marshals, Etc, Etc, Etc. And then there are the Corporations... Just because EM is not supplying us with those numbers doesn't mean nothing is happening.

.Anyone else have ideas (or knowledge) of businesses that can (or will) benefit from the Elio?

I believe if you are in for $1000 , you are in.

Totally agreed. The $1000 all-in-holders are highly unlikely to forgoe a $1500 value (their all-in money plus their bonus). I'm all-in and though mostly a dunce, I am clever enough to know that if I decided I didn't want it after all I'd be better off just buying it and then re-selling it as used, as I'd more than likely be able to get some of that $1500 back.

If the number of the $1000 all-in folks who walk away leaving their $1000 on the table is more than 5% after subtracting deaths, I'd be shocked.
