Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Actually Crow is much more appetizing when smoked, not baked. The meat and feathers just fall off the bones :)

On paper but not on stone. Just remember that production has been moved back a couple times already.
And just how long have you been following the Elio?. I made my first reservation in Sep 2013 and my support for Elio has not waivered. I was disappointed but not discouraged by the delay in production but it was caused by the delay in leasing the old GM plant that was beyond Elio's control. IMHO Elio has meet its challenges in a timely fashion and I remain optimist about the Sep 2015 start of production. I look forward to the crow eating experience for so many on this forum.

I don't believe many people understand just how bad the delay in securing the plant ended up hurting Elio Motors. EM, through their partner IRG, was supposed to take control of the plant in September 2013 and they had a round of financing already lined up that was contingent on that happening. When the lawsuit which caused the original delay happened, followed by more interference from the state and county governments, this not only delayed the final plant deal to May 1, 2014 but it completely ruined that round of financing. Elio Motors was forced to wait until after they had finally secured the plant and actually received a $7.5 million payment from IRG to even start the round of financing all over again. This issue with that round of financing plus the delay in securing the plant is what ultimately pushed the entire timeline back at least a year.

Some people point out that Paul Elio said that they were building 25 prototypes in September 2013 and the first of these builds was indeed supposed to happen however when the plant deal and round of financing was pushed back, due to the lawsuit, the build plans also had to be pushed back. In November 2013 with the lawsuit still ongoing EM decided to use the funds they had to complete one prototype, the P4, which was built in the December 2013/January 2014 timeframe.

This whole story will eventually be told but for now EM needs the state/parish government and their investors to be very cooperative so throwing these groups under the bus and blaming them for the issues they caused is not a good way to handle things. We also know all to well that sharing too much information will lead to that information being over-analyzed and stretched out to every possible extreme which is a bad thing so EM has chosen to obliquely make reference to these issues while maintaing a positive public image.

While that plant delay ended up causing EM many issues, and as can be expected also led to many frustrated reservation holders, the good news is that it also gave them more time to work on the vehicle which is not a bad thing at all.
