Shockwave Motors Insiders for January 4th, 2016

I wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year!

We have a lot going on this month and I wanted to share some updates with you..

All-American Makers
First, we are back on the Science Channel’s schedule and our episode will air on this Wednesday, January 6th, at 10:01 PM.

Here’s the All-American Makers’ Commercial. As you can see, they had a blast with the Roadster.

Fast ‘N Loud Meets Electric ‘N Cool
Carrie and I were in Dallas recently and had the opportunity to meet Richard Rawlings owner of Gas Monkey Garage and Gas Monkey Bar 'N Grill.

Knoxville Area Car Shows
This month we will have the Roadster at two car shows. If you are in the area, stop by and say hello. We are scheduled to appear at the Cabin Fever Car and Motorcycle Show in Knoxville on the weekend of January 9th and 10th.

We will also be at the Winter Angel Car Show in White Pine – just outside of Morristown – on January 16th and 17th.

Shockwave Motors Blog
I am often asked questions such as how I became interested in electric cars and my thoughts on new developments in the electric vehicle industry. We’ve started a blog where we’ll share our thoughts and answer your questions.

Find out more at the Shockwave Motors Blog.

I watched that show tonight; they jumped in for a test drive and within 20' it popped out of gear into reverse (while moving forward) you just heard a kind of grinding, clunking, and the teeth on the gears chattering. They took it out on the road and got it up to 70; they had to use a speed gun because the speedometer didn't work (hmm wonder if that's what was grinding). They loved it, but all agreed it needed more work.
It does use a VW transaxle which were never known for being strong under quick acceleration.
Being EV it can give all of that power to that transaxle at once.
This the ups and downs that prototypes have to go through.

They should have had Tim "The Toolman" Taylor work on it. It would have been tuned into a really sweet machine. Or a beautiful explosion. Maybe both. It's hard to say.

It's a good looking vehicle, but they just made it look good, and didn't concentrate on the drive line.
You can take that same body and power it by a lot of different engines / motors

My intent was also to highlight the absence of the E.

a while back there were similar wailings about not having a P4, then not having a working motor, then not having a P5 .... info has been released that the funding for the E's has recently been obtained .... factor in Christmas/New Years and it just might be that expectations of outsiders (meaning us) aren't grounded in reality .... nobody wants to get into production more than the folks running EM .... the process will be there when it gets there .... trumpeting Are We There Yet? accomplishes next to nothing or even less

just to say it, and this will be my last on this thread (I think) Fast and Load doesn't seem to be any closer than their "P5", yet they got themselves some great publicity. I'm still looking for a piece
, not buried in blogs or Youtube, the television audience will be exposed to.

The Translogic piece a while back was TV, 2nd tier cable (MAVTV maybe, I forget?), but still TV.
