Thanks for the link booboo.
I had trouble shifting gears back at the LA auto show, multiple reporters have mentioned its poor shifting.
I am now worried these poor shifting characteristics are a natural part of the vehicle and can not be gotten rid of.
I am now worried my vehicle (when I get it) will shift that way.
If they could have gotten rid of the problem, they would have.

Good Lord, I hope not, by production, I am looking forward to ergonomic pedal placement, and a standard good feel shift.

Don't worry until you hear reports of the E's being that way. It could very well be part of the P5 design that would take more effort to fix than is economical. The P5 is a show car, not intended for serious performance reviews.

If you hear reports that the E's have poor shifting, then it's time to start worrying.

The final design must meet their approval and I am sure they would not let anything like that happen.
Good point.

Maybe EM should hold off on these reviews by the media until they have a better version of the elio.

The P5 was never really meant to be driven. It was meant to be a static display.

Roush is not a final decision maker on the Elio; they have input to different areas, but they are far from running the show and saying that a design meets their approval. They are only a part of the team / puzzle.

Keep in mind, this is not a production model. I know from reading your posts that you are very mechanically inclined. So, we know EM plans to use the same tranny for the manual and auto transmission. Do you think a 12V servo (or how ever an AMT works) could shift the transmission in the automatic version of the manual that you have hands on experience with? Doesn't sound like it to me. I value your opinion, So do you have any thoughts?
