you still get better gas mileage than any other ICE vehicle on the road by nearly double...

My just purchased 2011 Toyota Prius gets 49-50 mpg with all city driving...Same as the Elio's 49 mpg city...But the Elio will get 84 mpg highway while my Prius drops to 46 mpg! The Prius combined city/highway combined mpg makes it a gas hog compared to the Elio...Plus I prefer a 600 plus mile range with the Elio to the "up to 450 mile range" of the Prius! ELIO sips, Prius guzzles!!!
Hmm........
Buy someone else's problems for $10K
or
Buy a new vehicle with warranty and auto trans for $8.5K
or
Learn to drive stick and save an additional $1K
I have been buying used cars for over forty years, with the exception of a Datsun 280Z, I have never regretted my purchase. You can buy a low end used car with a three year warranty, but will not get Elio mileage. I agree with you about standard transmissions. I have three cars with them, and enjoy the standards. My trucks have automatics because they have higher towing capacity. I used to drive transport and would always take a older 15 speed than the newer semi automatics.

So now that program is out of the way for now. We saw the dead line on the matching all in moved a few times. While a mile stone has been reached other than a short live feel good thing it has no real meaning. I know some how there were those that got it in their head that it would get ELIO the loan. That was never directly the case. We can hope it would influence it but really nothing much to do with it.
On this ride we got excited at 10k, 20k and each increase of 10k that went by. I guess it is still a good thing we are still excited about it.
Signing the commitment to purchase may some day prove to have been a good idea for those of us that did. The funds to pay off the Elio are still sitting in a midcap Mutual fund. The news I want to hear from ELIO is delivery date and where to send final Payment.
Find away get it built, you will sell them and at a little better price. I know a lot of people that would jump on one. But no way they would send a dime until they see them rolling out the door.

Unless EM continues to post some kind of total reservation counter, this could very well be the last post of the reservations graph.

View attachment 21409

View attachment 21410

Total days: 1,524 (About 3 years, 2 months, and 5 days)
Total reservations: 65,000
Average res/day: 42.7
Thank you for maintaining that. I maintained a simple graph when they started taking reservations but deferred to the better graph you and others have provided.

From the Elio Motors Facebook page, apparently it was clearly stated somewhere that the 65,000 number and binding reservations were not tied to the ATVM?

Steve Falteisek Does this mean Elio Motors will get the ATVM Loan?

Elio Motors Hello Steve, the amount of reservations that we have are not directly tied into securing the ATVM loan, but of course, the more reservations we have, the more appealing we are to securing the remaining funds!

Jeremy Young Elio will continue to change the plan to get more investment money

Elio Motors We're not changing any plans Jeremy; we've been very clear that securing the ATVM loan is not directly tied into the amount of reservations that we have. What may have been misunderstood is when we opened up the ability to complete a binding purchase agreement (https://www.eliomotors.com/lockin/) to remain eligible for the ATVM loan under new loan requirements among other things.

Key quote: "to remain eligible for the ATVM loan under NEW loan requirements among other things."
Possibly to shown a continued interest in the vehicle.
Kind of like on E bay where some people jack the price for the item up through bidding on purpose then the deal falls through.

I sure hope the reservations after 65000 don't get ahead of those placed in the first 65000. A $1000 reservation should not get ahead of the $100, $250 and $500 for example.
While I agree with the premise of your concern, I respectfully don't think it holds merit. Here's why:

Should the $100, $250, and $500 all-in reservations prior to 10,000 be prioritized over later $1000 all-in deposits?
Should the $100, $250, and $500 all-in reservations prior to 20,000 be prioritized over later $1000 all-in deposits?
Should the $100, $250, and $500 all-in reservations prior to 30,000 be prioritized over later $1000 all-in deposits?
Should the $100, $250, and $500 all-in reservations prior to 40,000 be prioritized over later $1000 all-in deposits?
Should the $100, $250, and $500 all-in reservations prior to 50,000 be prioritized over later $1000 all-in deposits?
Should the $100, $250, and $500 all-in reservations prior to 60,000 be prioritized over later $1000 all-in deposits?
Should the $100, $250, and $500 all-in reservations prior to 65,000 be prioritized over later $1000 all-in deposits?
Should the $100, $250, and $500 all-in reservations prior to xx,000 be prioritized over later $1000 all-in deposits?

Obviously everyone desires to be prioritized as an early adopter or hardcore believer or true supporter or what have you. But we are all in this together, and I believe there won't be any unique delineation or demarcation line drawn between pre-65,000 and post-65,000, on the premise that it hasn't been done yet. EM has held strong on the concept of $1000 before $500 before $250 before $100, and All-In's before Want-In's, all throughout this journey, as I understand it. I'm not personally opposed to drawing a line in the sand somewhere and providing preferential treatment to earlier adopters, even if that involves prioritizing 'lesser' dollar-figure all-in reservation holders ahead of me. But that precedent hasn't been set by EM yet. Cheers!

Did they have reservation goals at less than 65000 in the past? If so you are probably right. If not this should be a cutoff point.
