I hope we start seeing some P-5 build pictures soon... It'd be nice to see it come along. Maybe they'll surprise us and reveal a pretty red Elio on some stage somewhere this month.. and then, as the applause dies down, a white one will drive up. Really, the build time for two shouldn't be much longer than the build time for one. I mean, the jig is right there. When you finish making body panel one, just make body panel two. Maybe this version will have actual glass in the side windows and actual components throughout.

I can agree with the P5 and other builds (P6-P25) but they really haven't mentioned much about the ride and drive yet. I do wonder when that will start happening. It might be part of the P6-P25 build, but they said those were going to be built for testing. They just didn't specify what kind of testing.
Who knows it might be the ride and drive is considered testing. we'll have to wait and see (Oh I so hope it is).

i am going to hazard a guess and say 10 for crash testing, 5 for durability and mpg tests, and 10 for tours... 4 teams of 2, with 2 spares...

Me, too. My analytical mind looks at this chart and I see the daily rate trending down since the August 2014 peak towards the lowest level since inception. The bench testing of the IAV designed engine created a very transitory upward blip. My expectations have been quite different from this reality. I would have thought that continuing roadshows, constant EM emails, two funding opportunities and the latest web blogger test drives would each have contributed to the daily curve pointing upward. I can't put my head around what has faltered. Delayed production dates don't affect new reservations - future production remains a year out.

The nay-say dialogs over time here on the forum do give you a slight hint. What they toss in the tub, is a reflection of some current counter-impulses.

A couple years ago, nobody heard of the Elio, now it's getting closer to common knowledge. That's a bit of a saturation effect. So there are fewer people now where the simple novelty of it will get a reservation. So in theory there are a lot of fence sitters waiting for conditions that make them feel confident. The long time line of this as a start-up has entrenched that just a bit. And they are looking at some of the doubts a bit harder now.

And then there is the expected production rate, it's so high that there is less worry about getting into the first year production. So what will motivate people now? The 50%-of-reservation discount? This affects only the fence sitters. But if huge reservations start to challenge that production -delivery- rate again, then these fence-sitters might snowball for a bit.

There is a lot bigger group of people who just want to see it out there before they commit money.

SO my current guess is that when 100% confidence is reached, there will be an upward spike, but then fall back to some level. Then later when the very first Elio's hit the ground, then there is a possibility of snow-balling again for a while longer.

Only after all reservations are met and Elio's sit at the show-rooms will anyone get any solid proof of the on-going popularity. That's when competitors will start to think about playing the game.

There are many interested in the Elio Concept that are not willing to put a reservation deposit down on a concept. They have to see it, touch it, and more importantly test drive it before they buy it. There are only so many gamblers and that market is close to tapped out. I am amazed by 43,000 reservations! I think there will be a slight bump in reservations by on the fencers as the P5-30 finally roll out. EM faces the same gamble all new startups face hoping for continued, long term market share and popularity of a new small or micro vehicle concept when it finally hits the market.................in this case a three wheeler commuter autocycle..........a harder sell. The one big advantage that may make it the potential winner we all hope is the pricepoint, but only time will tell.
