When home charging for local daily commutes, I set it to charge at 80%, recommended to conserve battery life. I leave the house with an 80% overnight charge every morning. The only time I charge to 100% is when planning long distance roadtrip the next morning. By comparison: my former SUV’s 15 gallon gas tank at today’s $3.44/gallon gas price $51.60. In 2 years of ownership the only service on the car has been a tire rotation. With that said, low total cost to operate, is not why I chose to own an EV, but rather performance. Fastest 0-60 mph car I’ve owned in 60 years of driving. It’s a joy to drive.Forgive my lack of hands on knowledge of this, but assuming I am driving a mid priced EV (not hybrid), and I am very low on charge, and I find a convenient charging station, how long will it take to "fill my tank"? Not talking about a limp to the next station charge, talking "full up" refill. How much will that cost? I know some places are "free" now, but I expect that will rapidly change.
Wow, Boy, my state is 'f'd up. I seem to remember paying $4.49 on my last fill up, which is about 1-2 times each week.Gas prices in Northeast Texas dropped about $.30/gal last evening. McKinney/Plano area, $2.82 - $2.88 most places.
My 240 volt home charger charges at a rate of 22 miles/hour."Owner showcases how $86K GMC Hummer EV takes 4 DAYS to fully charge from home outlet"

I've seen this article posted in a couple of sources.
This owner did purchase the 240 Volt charger and that still takes 24 hours to charge.
“I have a Juice Box, Level Two charger, 240 volts at my garage,” the man explained. “Plug in Level Two charger; now it says it will be done tomorrow by 6:30, so about 24 hours of charging from four percent to 100 percent. It’s a 212 kilowatt-hour battery. Still takes a while.”
I’m not very familiar with what it takes to recharge on the road.My 240 volt home charger charges at a rate of 22 miles/hour.
I had range anxiety prior to buying an EV. Our first long road trip (1200 miles) was moving back from Idaho to South Dakota. I set the trip planner on the navigation and it scheduled the charging stops and charger locations along the route and the chargers were conveniently located. The only time it’s recommended to charge to 100% would be an overnight charge to start the next mornings travel. Otherwise, it was a stop to to charge to the % (80% Max) that got us to our scheduled end of day destination…….and there an overnight charge (100%) to start the next morning. Our longest charge took 20 minutes and we had lunch at an adjacent restaurant and watched the charging progress on our cell phone APP. I was pleasantly surprised by the long road trip experience and my current anxiety is about the same as running out of gas.I’m not very familiar with what it takes to recharge on the road.
say you’re traveling across several states and you run the batteries down to 10% or so. You find a super charging station. About how long would it take to charge to 100% and approx what would the station charge? Have you done this with your EV?
