still in the high threes here, not enough drop to make me think about stopping car pooling yet. Diesel still over 5.
If it goes up over 6 (and it will) I will start taking my daughters kawasaki to work.

Prior to retirement, I commuted for several years on my Yamaha. In addition to getting 55mpg, I could use the HOV lane (alone). My state allowed motorcycle riders to use the HOV/Carpool lane without a passenger. I made GREAT time during my commute.
It appears that Kawasaki is a 125cc, I'm guessing 70-75mpg?? In hindsight, I should have purchased a 300cc (or lower) for commuting, I really didn't need the speed or power of a 600cc engine. I did find my Yamaha to be quite comfortable for commuting, though.

Yes, that's a K125, she just bought it in June, supposed to get 85 mpg, but 75 is more likely. Only has a 1 gallon tank and no reserve, but does have a gas gauge... But I could commute all week (250 miles) on 4 gallons and have some left over. I have done this in the last gas crisis in the 70's, bought a 250cc single cylinder Kawasaki (250LTD) and used that all year, winter , rain and all. That got close to 80 mpg back then.
