Radio Speakers??

I don't know if this topic has been discussed or not, but I am not seeing any photos of the prototypes that show any interior speakers in the Elio. I ONLY listen to music while driving, and a good sound system is a MUST. I can see placing three up front around the driver, but would like a few in the back to balance the sound. I wonder what they (Elio) have in mind?

They announced the sound system will be made in the US by MTX Audio. See press release for more details.

It takes more than lots of speakers to get good sound. If you really want an excellent sound system in your Elio may I suggest you consider removing the stock system and having a "Mark Levinson" system installed.

Keep in mind nickskeys, this is still a prototype. Speaker size and location could change in the production model. Like everything else, guess we just have to wait and see.

You're right. We don't know about speaker size and location. However, at $6,800 you can bet the sound system is going to be very basic and not sound very good. Whatever size speakers they install they will not be of high quality and can be replaced with something better. Size is not a problem as size is not the determining factor in a speakers sound quality. When it comes to speaker sound quality, bigger is not always better.

Exactly right. I'm going with the standard system and replace everything myself. I know they will offer an upgraded system, but aftermarket equipment will be better, and probably at a better price.

Remember, the Elio is only half the width, but you should be able to go at least twice the distance with the same energy.

sorry, yes you're right It was an attempt at humor, I'm in the group that keeps reminding myself that " bigger is not always better"
