With a grand child in a wheel chair the cars just did not cut it anymore. I took a C-max on a two day 250 run around doing the things wife normally does, Of course she was with us. I was surprise my wife liked it. She does not warm up to new vehicles well.
Payton loved it she did not get knocked around loading her in and out. In fact when I returned it the first thing the 7 years old ask is where is the white one. She wanted it back.
Well she got it back I pick it up Monday. For a vehicle it's size we got 41.5 for the 250 miles. that include 70 mph driving and city . Driving where it does its best we got up to 45.6.. Weather was between 28 and 45 degrees. Thing has power if you want hit the fuel it will run. Rides great handles very well.
About the only option I did not get was the sunroof. It think wife will like it. Never though I would buy a hybrid. Any other non hybrid that had the room and size doors we needed was in the 20-25 mpg range. Gas is low now but it aint staying there.
Did my home work but was still a bit unsure of this choice, put the 9 year 140,000 mile extended covers everything warranty on it. Full protection treatment inside and out . So a new experience begins.
Still hoping to see the ELIO someday. Cash still sitting in the ELIO account wait for it.
If one this size can get that mileage and still move a Hybrid ELIO should get 120MPG. looks like now I will really be looking for and Other car.

Looked at Honda it had slightly better MPG reported . Ford beat it out on handling, ride and quality of interior . I am still a red neck so Ford won out.
Put the ELIO cash a side the day I hit send on the $1000 all in still sitting their.

That was probably the G2 Insight.
The G1 Insight is a lot different animal.
My redneck vehicle is a 1998 F-150 "Nascar Limited Edition" pickup. Only 3000 made. (Only 54K miles on the vehicle.)

Very impressive gas mileage and warranty on your C-max. Congrats. Enjoy that car. :) You will have to keep us posted on how it performs down the road. Sure off to a great start.

I will. This is something I was unsure of. Need the bigger doors and higher entry. The cargo room will handle gear she needs well. I know the dealer well so they let me take it for two days and give it a try. It was Payton and the way she told us she wanted that white car back. I am sure she noticed not getting knocked around loading up or getting her out. Soon as we heard her say that there was no doubt We would take it. I had set 35MGP as the make or break point. If it could not get 35 mpg on the runs wife makes then I would have gone with a non-hybrid small to mid size SUV type vehicleis is something I was unsure of. Need the bigger doors and higher entry

I do work for a Ford dealer so I'm forced to buy Fords .Bought 3 F250's all were the worst Diesels ever made .Bought two Fiestas and they we're decent other than Transmission problems every 25-30,000 miles .I'm shifting to Honda's and Toyota's .

Anyway ya gotta take care of the Grandchild and I hope you have better luck than I did :D
