Here are my stereotypes:

BMW: Loves to run bicyclists off the road and go through puddles when there are people standing nearby (but avoids puddles at all other times)
Prius: Treehugger with more cash than sense
SMART: Huh? Weirdos.
Hummer: Compensating
Leaf: Early adopter
Spinners: Low intelligence/income/taste

So will it be perceived closer to the Prius or a Can-AM?

It depends on how much "Bling" the owner puts on it. I've seen some pretty racy/hotrod renditions done by Silas Sunday and Andrew Jones [in Wheater's neck of the world]. Stock as a rock, more towards the Prius/tree-hugger crowd (that's BS, Elio looks way cooler), but with fairings off, nice rims, and custom paint/wrap, it'll definitely impress the Can-Am crew.

I would never do any of that. But then I drive a little Suzuki Swift 1.0, a Renault Kangoo MPV, an 850cc Liege and a motorcycle. I also have a bicycle and so I'm sympathetic to the dangers of two wheels. I also walk, with our dogs and I jog on public roads if necessary

I also drive a BMW 330D on my 90 miles round trip to and from work. I don't drive any differently, and certainly not without due consideration to other road users, whoever they may be, just because I'm in that.

Moderator Comment: I do not yet see a reason to delete anything as while politics have been mentioned it was within the context of stereotypes. This is riding the line but as long as this does not devolve into an actual discussion of political positions it is ok. ;):D:p
Is a missionary political?

A different personality is reflected in each and every vehicle you choose to drive in your collection. Like wearing a different hat for different occasions............it sets your mood. LOL

Want to talk about "small". I had a 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo. THAT is a snack car. (What a blast to drive). I never felt threatened even on the interstate between several big rigs.
