The only good thing about the way new cars are distributed in America is that it keeps people busy who would otherwise be rifling through your silverware drawer while you are at the movies.

It also provides the garment industry an outlet for garish plaid sport coats

Have any of your read EM website about how they are going to sell Elio and the options? There are NO dealers. Paul Elio is totally against the traditional dealership model. Why do you think the auto dealerships are fighting Tesla. They also don't want the traditional dealership model. The price in Elio's sales room will be the price with a 20% markup for profit. That's it. No packages, no add ons. Anyone get it yet?

The big deal, as I've said already, is Elio would lose a huge chunk of prospective buyers w/that requirement and IMHO would fail.
And I would be shocked if an Auto Cycle classification was enacted by our govt in my lifetime, let alone Elios', who really is in a Catch 22 situation.[/

I guess I'm the outlier on that one.... I took the CA MC Safety course and thought it was one of the biggest wastes of a weekend of all time. When the instructor asked our opinion at the end of the class the conversation went something like, "It was a waste of my time. You didn't say a single thing that wasn't in the first 15 pages of my motorcycle's user's manual." "Who reads the user's manual??" "Obviously, I do."

I can't comment on the differences in the content of the CA and GA MC Safety Courses. The GA course is designed to move a student from the case of 'bicycle rider / automatic transmission only' to a point where they can not only operate a motorcycle correctly, but also will have acquired an appropriate knowledge of safety and the rules of the road. There's an excellent book by David L. Hough, Proficient Motorcycling: The Ultimate Guide to Riding Well, that I had read prior to taking the course. The GA course is based very heavily upon the content of that book and gives you the opportunity to practice and discuss many of the techniques that are provided in the book.

You gotta love all the know it alls in here who act like they have a MBA from harvard in one post and worry about how they are going to pay for a 7000 vehicle or even come up with a down payment in another..
