Could be a "fusion center" also then. They like to hide them under vague terms like "technology infrastructure". Or a cloud server farm. Depends on where they get their funding from. If private funding, then a mining operation is probable, especially if the electricity rates there are lower than the national average.

Damn.... I've been in and out of the Hospital so often I almost forgot how to do this, but I'll give it the old college try ................

Your Thingy Doesn't Have

Two 5 year-old boys are standing at the toilet, getting ready to pee. One says, "Your thingy doesn't have any skin on it."

"I've been circumcised," the other one says.

"What's that mean?"

"It means they cut the skin off at the end."

"How old were you when it was cut off?"

"My mum said I was two days old."

"Did it hurt?"

"You bet it hurt. I couldn’t walk for a year!"

how's that?

Fair? how about this one .......

Well it has been a long time ................
Oh well
try again

I'm Bending Over

Two kids decided to dress up as a cow for Halloween. After hours of arguing who was going to be the head and the rear, they decided to flip a coin and the argument was settled.

While crossing a farmer’s field in their costume the boy that was in the rear says, "What's that snort you are making?"

The boy in the front says, "I'm not snorting," and swings his big cow head around and spots this huge bulls racing towards them. He says, "Don’t panic! But we got a problem behind us coming up fast... It’s a big bull."

After a second or two the kid in the rear says, "What are we going to do?"

The kid in the front replies, "I don't know about you, but I'm going to bend over and eat some grass."

Better?

I'll be back tomorrow..... I have to go and rescue my teeth

Since this is the "odds and ends" section of the forum, I hope its OK to post a computer related question.

Support for Windows 10 is ending in October and I'm wondering what other people on the forum are doing for this event.

Personally, I do my banking, etc. on line -- so I do need something that is secure and will receive updates, etc.

I think my plan is to purchase a refurbished Windows 11 machine, as I don't need anything high-end, just strong enough to run a browser and do a few spreadsheets.

I'm toying with the idea of playing with Linux. I'm intrigued by the idea of divorcing myself from Windows completely. Are there any Linux users on the forum?? Do you like it?? Do you feel it is secure?? Opinions?? Thoughts??

Thank you in advance.

I was perfectly happy with Windows 10 so I resisted changing for a long time .... when I had to replace my laptop, the new one came with Windows 11 .... when it comes to computers, I ain't nowhere near top drawer and I didn't find the transition to be much of a problem

Win 11 isn't that much different from Win 10, at least on the faceplate, internally it's all new, a lot of "behind the scenes" it's all new and different.
Support and updates end in October for Win10, 8, and 7 and I hate to see the core apps that are going to happen (that's the Geek in me surfacing)
But there is a lot of good happening also, like Office is going to be built in, and you are going to get 5megs (I think, it could be more) of storage in the "cloud" included, I'm still learning what all it is that they are including, but it is a bunch. Remember. this is going to be a worldwide release so there is always a "bug" or 20 that is not going show up till it's release, then Geeks get the discount on Pepto-Bismol (I already have mine) I'm soooooo glad I'm retired from the support wars. But I know I'll still be doing them (a little cash under the table is nice).
