back in the day, I was trained to return the seat to its "normal" closed i.e. the toilet seat cover down position
In my middle age the love of my life found woman's lib,and being a pussy learned that lid open seat down was p.c.
Solved the problem- divorced, lid up - also easier for my cats to get a drink (yes, after a flush)
