If it is offered as an option I'll probably take it if it is very cheap. Otherwise I'll just install one myself and mount the monitor in a cool way like I did in my pickup :)
Like I posted in the other extensive camera debate:

Not being a wise ass, but what can you see with the camera that you can't see with the two outside mirrors? Just curious. There is no blind spot.

IIRC, for a 3-wheeled vehicle to keep it's MC status, the weight can not exceed 1,500 lbs.

I believe the weight ratings apply only to classes of passenger cars. For motorcycles what matters is not weight but number of wheels being no more than three.

This is the actual text of the motorcycle definition as listed in the federal register under NHTSA FMVSS 49 CFR 571.3
Motorcycle means a motor vehicle with motive power having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground.

FYI... NHTSA FMVSS = National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards = The actual rules and regulations all vehicles and vehicle accessories, including motorcycle helmets, must follow to be legally used on public roads in the USA.

Thank you for clarifying that. :)

There is a difference between a camera that turns on when you back up and one used as a rear view mirror that would always be on. Back up cameras for cars are what the new law is about. Rear view mirrors replaced by a camera/s are still not legal here in the USA.

Actually the federal government has no requirement for a rear view mirror so using a camera and a display for that purpose is perfectly legal. What is not legal yet is replacing side mirrors with a camera system however even this is now under review.

The curb that I'm backing into or the pole in the center of the parking space that I'm backing into. Unfortunately I have a hard problem telling distances and backup cameras have the space measured off for easy reference.
