What about a "kit car" or in this situation a "kit motorcycle"?? Does the same process apply??

*** NOTE *** I'm not suggesting that Mark change gears and sell a kit car/motorcycle (for the mongrel), but if "push came to shove", is that an option??

Personally, I'm OK with assembling my own BEX Mongrel, as long as Mark includes instructions -- that are better than IKEA furniture instructions.
One of the biggest issues with the kit car idea is that the drivetrain can't be imported/sold with the vehicle without running afoul of the EPA. The engines need to be already in the US and meet US specs. Even then, to be a "kit car", the engine and trans can't be sold directly to you by the company that sold you the kit without that making them a full vehicle manufacturer. I don't mind installing an engine and trans, but sourcing them on your own is a pain. I know you can get JDM imports and whatnot, but that isn't cheap.

The phone is fine, something in the charging port failed and I couldn't charge it.

.... and now it's fixed.
good to hear .... I still use a Flip Phone, ain't nothing smart about it .... it just makes phone calls .... my wife has an Iphone .... if/when it eventually fails, she'll panic ....

? I have no interest to market anywhere else initially other than to the America market.
Why go that far when you can market this BEX where you're at? It's about making money out of your creation isn't it? But I can also see your point, if it passes all of USA's regulations, it'll sell anywhere.

Was just trying to read the new standards for automatic braking for "light vehicles". It will be a while before compliance will be mandatory. I made it though a bunch but there are over 300 pages. My concern is they kept talking of "light vehicles". Maybe I didn't get to the part where they excluded motorcycles or even bicycles (they are light vehicles). Here is a link to the full standard:

You will find under the "supplemental" heading that they specifically say it applies to passenger cars and such, no mention of motorcycles.

Motorcycles are a specific vehicle classification with their own set of manufacturer and certification requirements.

I am literally over traveling sorting out different aspects to make the BEX a reality, wearing me down a bit, and then in the middle of last night my Bro-in-Law passed away, so a 8 hour round trip leaving at 3am this morning to get my wife who was working in another city.

Arcimoto's failure is another blow to reverse trikes, but makes me even more determined to get a result, so it is still the priority in my life, hang in there despite the lack of updates :-)

And I do want brands like Arcimoto to succeed as it creates confidence in the vehicle type, oh well.
