Need proof that the Elio has mass appeal? The North American International Auto Show is a great example!
Elio Motors Momentum v90
There are a few select American cities that earn and embrace a particular identity. Hollywood is the entertainment center of the world, Silicon Valley is at the center of global tech innovations, and Detroit is the automotive capitol of the world. Detroit is not only home to some of the most influential and largest car companies in the world, it is also home to many world class automotive suppliers and engineers. Recently, Elio Motors spent 14 days in the Motor City, and our appearance at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) highlighted our vehicle’s mass appeal.
Before the show opened to the general public, the NAIAS kicked off on January 9th for five Industry Preview days. Industry Preview Days are essentially an opportunity for media members, industry executives and engineers from around the world to interact. During Industry Preview Days, the “who’s who” in the automotive industry arrive to network and figuratively take the pulse of the industry’s direction.
After the Industry Preview Days have ended, the show finally opens up to the public. As any of our tour team members can tell you, the NAIAS is different from any other auto show because the public is incredibly knowledgeable in all things automotive. From the nuts and bolts of a vehicle to the logistics of bringing a vehicle to market, the people of Detroit know their stuff. Their questions are often in-depth and complex, and we thoroughly enjoyed many of the valuable conversations.
Of course, as with most of our tour events, we had Elio Motors super fans make arduous treks to pay us a visit. For example, father and son team Randy and Jerry came all the way from Cincinnati to experience the E1c. Shows like the E1c also give us a great opportunity to introduce ourselves to the uninitiated and future Elio Motors supporters.
We enjoyed a visit with Fred and Herbie, two members of the Detroit Fire Department. They were both impressed with the safety element of the Elio, as well as the trunk space that proved to be more than adequate for their equipment. We have consistently received rave reviews from experts in the safety field, and we can now add two more experts to the list.
An accurate way to predict if a product will be a success is to seek the opinion of both experts and the public that will ultimately buy the product. After our positive reception at both Industry Preview Days and the NAIAs main show, we feel very confident in our success.
